M <br />8/23/71 <br />Remonstrance to said closings bearing the signatures of more than 350 persons <br />having been received and the matter having been duly considered, the motion <br />was made by Lloyd S. Taylor that the .vacation of Vernon and Caroline Streets <br />at the Penn Central railroad crossings be tabled indefinitely. The motion <br />was seconded by James A. Bickel and unanimously carried. <br />IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 3343 CONFIRMED - E. FARNEMAN STREET SEWER <br />For the improvement of East Farneman Street, from 200 feet east of Fellows <br />Street, east to the dead end, by constructing a local sewer. <br />Having duly considered the matter, the Board decides that the benefits to <br />the property liable to be assessed for said improvement are equal to or <br />greater than the estimated cost of the same as reported by the City Civil <br />Engineer. Thereupon, it was moved, seconded and unanimously carried that <br />Improvement Resolution No. 3343, 1971, be in all things confirmed as <br />adopted on August 2, 1971, and the improvement ordered made. <br />September 20, 1971, was the date set for receiving bids , at 9:30 A.M., in <br />Room 1308 County City Building, for said improvement. And the Clerk was <br />directed to give notice by publication in the South Bend Tribune and the <br />Tr i County News on rSepterhber 3'4 and September 10, 1971. <br />AREA PLAN RECOMMENDATION - VACATION PETIT[ON'OF';FLOYD L.-HECKAMAN <br />Area Plan Commission files with the Board its favorable recommendation for <br />the vacation of the north -south alley between Carroll and Columbia Streets, <br />from the south right of way line of the first alley south of Bronson Street, <br />running south 102 feet to the north property line of Lot 29, all in Denniston <br />and Fellows Addition. And the City Engineer is directed to prepare a <br />vacation resolution. <br />AREA PLAN RECOMMENDATI.O_N - VACATION PETITION OF DEPARTMENT OF REDEVELOPMENT <br />Area Plan Commission files with the Board its favorable recommendation <br />for the vacation of: <br />Portions of streets and alleys all within the recorded Th:itrd <br />Plat of Summit Place Addition, a subdivision 1fi the south- <br />west Quarter of Section 10, Township 37 north, Range 2 east, <br />as follows: <br />(1) Kankakee Avenue between the west line of the north -south <br />alley west of Kaley Street and the east line extended northerly <br />of Lot 686. <br />(2) Kaley Street between 40 feet north of the north line of <br />Colfax Avenue and the south line of Kankakee Avenue. <br />(3) The north -south alley (between Kaley Street and Meade <br />Street) between 40 feet north of the north line of Colfax <br />Avenue and the south line of Kankakee Avenue. <br />(4) The east -west alley (between Washington Street and Colfax <br />Avenue) between the west line of Kaley Street and the east <br />line of the first north -south alley west of Kaley°Street. <br />Said vacation subject to 14 foot wide sewer easement between <br />the west line of Kaley Street and the east line of the first <br />north -south alley west of Kaley Street. <br />And the City Engineer is directed to prepare a vacation resolution. <br />AREA PLAN RECOMMENDATION - VACATION PETITION OF ROY H. POLLOCK <br />Area Plan Commission files with the Board its favorable recommendation for <br />the vacation of: <br />The alley running east from Fellows Street south of Dubai] <br />Avenue and crossing Lots 55 and 56, and a portion of Lot 57; <br />thence running south exiting in the east -west alley between <br />Dubai] Avenue and Dayton Street from Fellows Street to Rush <br />Street in Henry Baker's First Addition. <br />And the City Engineer is directed to prepare,a vacation resolution. <br />
