<br />REQUEST TO ERECT TENT FOR TENT SALE - J. E. WALZ, INC.
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the
<br />erection of a tent at 3423 S. Michigan Street by J. E. Walz, Inc., 3423
<br />S. Michigan Street, South Bend, Indiana,for a tent sale commencing
<br />September 8, 1971, and lasting until late October, 1971, subject to the
<br />approval of the Fire Department and the Building Department.
<br />REQUEST TO CLOSE STREET FOR BLOCK PARTY - TAMI McNALLY
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the
<br />request of Mrs. Tami McNally, 1404 Sunnymede Avenue, South Bend, Indiana,
<br />to close Sunnymede Avenue, from Sunnyside to Twyckenham, from 6:00 P.M. to
<br />11:30 P.M., August 27, 1971, for a block party.
<br />PARKING METER INSTALLATION APPROVED - S. LAFAYETTE AVENUE
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the recommendation
<br />of the Traffic Engineering Department for the installation of three "one
<br />hour" parking meters on the east side of the 100 block of S. Lafayette
<br />Avenue, adjacent to and approaching Washington Avenue which was previously
<br />a loading zone.
<br />TRAFFIC REGULATION APPROVED - ROSEMARY AT EDISON
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved therecommendation
<br />of the Traffic Engineering Department for the installation of stop signs on
<br />Rosemary Lane -at Edison Street.
<br />STREET LIGHT PETITIONS
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the request of Eugene J. Bajdek, 2825
<br />Elwood Street, South Bend, Indiana, and 11 others for street lights in the
<br />1400 blocks of Elliott and Goodland Streets, was referred to the Traffic
<br />Engineering Department for study and recommendation.
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the petition of Joel E. Harman, 506 N.
<br />Allen Street, South Bend, Indiana, and 22 others, for a street light at
<br />Harvey and Lincolnway was referred to the Traffic Engineering Department for
<br />study and recommendation.
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the request of Mr. and Mrs. John
<br />Ksiszopolski, 5017 Sunnyfield Place, South Bend, Indiana, and 17 others for
<br />a street light in the 5000 block of Sunnyfield Place was referred to the
<br />Traffic Engineering Department for study and recommendation.
<br />COMMUNICATION RE FIRE PROTECTION - BENDIX CORPORATION
<br />A communication from Bendix Corporation in reference to fire protection at
<br />Bendix Corporation under the new fire alarm system was referred to the Fire
<br />Department for study and recommendation.
<br />REQUEST FOR TERMINATION OF EXCAVATION BOND - J. S. PLUMBING CONTRACTORS, INC.
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the request of the Reliance Insurance
<br />Company for termination of their Bond No. B455587 for the J. S. Plumbing
<br />Contractors, Inc. was referred to the Legal Department for recommendation.
<br />CONTRACTOR'S BOND TERMINATED - MARGARET TUTTLE
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, Contractor's bond No. 1903487 for
<br />Margaret Tuttle was terminated for all work done on and after August 31,
<br />1971.
<br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS
<br />Street light outage reports for the period 8/10/71 to 8/20/71 were ordered
<br />filed.
