Mr. Liszewski reported this property•is now boarded up. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the matter was continued <br />indefinitely and the Sub -Standards Director requested to keep the property <br />under surveillance. <br />122 S. Laurel Street. Mr. Liszewski reported this structure is being re- <br />paired and is presently boarded up. Upon motion made, seconded and unani- <br />mously carried, the matter was continued indefinitely and the Sub -Standards <br />Director requested to keep the property under surveillance. <br />134 Birdsell. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the matter of 134 <br />Birdsell Street was continued one week. <br />1314 W. Jefferson Boulevard. Paul Baronowski, representing the Model Cities <br />Neighborhood, appeared before the Board in reference to the condition of <br />1314 W. Jefferson Boulevard, stating that the rear of the house is about <br />to cave in after a fire. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Sub - <br />Standards Director was authorized to seek bids for the demolition of the <br />r-4 structure at 1314 W. Jefferson Boulevard as an emergency measure. <br />i� 218 S. Chapj n Street. Upon motion made seconded and carried, , the matter of <br />r.) 218 S. Chapin Street was referred to the Legal Department for review and <br />recommendation. <br />702 S. Clinton Street. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the matter <br />of 702 S. Clinton Street was referred to the Legal Department for review <br />and recommendation. <br />Mrs. Betty J. Berry, 1320 W. Jefferson Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana, <br />appeared before the Board and stated that she lives next door to 1314 W. <br />Jefferson and that the building was almost totally destroyed by fire on <br />May 30, 1971, and that it is a health hazard. <br />Request for sub -standard property owners to appear before the Board 9/7/71 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and .carried, the Board approved the request of <br />the Sub -Standards Director for the following persons to appear before the <br />Board on September 7, 1971, to show cause, if any they have, why the <br />following structures should not be demolished: <br />910 S. Columbia Street - Harold C. and Delores Personette <br />539 S. Fellows Street - Charles L. Stoddard <br />1519 W. Poland Street - Mary Gregorowicz <br />1540 W. Dunham Street - Frank and Lillie B. Binion <br />TEN OFF BROADWAY - STAGE PRODUCTION "HAIR" <br />Mr. Andrew J. Miller, President of Ten Off Broadway, 52245 U. S. Highway <br />#31 North, South .Bend, Indiana, appeared before the Board to request per- <br />mission from the Board to show the Broadway musical "Hair" at the Morris <br />Civic Auditorium. <br />Lloyd S. Taylor, President of the Board, stated that the Advisory Committee <br />of the Morris Civic Auditorium is the body determining what productions <br />shall be shown in the Morris Civic Auditorium, but if the Advisory Committee <br />requests, such decision will be made by the Board of Public Works and Safety. <br />AREA PLAN RECOMMENDATION <br />TABLED INDEFINITELY <br />PENN CENTRAL RAILROAD CROSSINGS <br />On the petition of the Penn Central Railroad for the closing of Vernon <br />and Caroline Street railroad -highway crossings on the Penn Central double <br />track main line in South Bend, Indiana. <br />Area Plan Commission having held a public hearing and the matter having <br />been considered further, the Area Plan Commission now recommends unfavorably <br />the closing of Vernon and Caroline Streets at the Penn Central right of way. <br />
