7/6/71 27 BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB -STANDARDS DIVISION Richard Liszewski, Sub -Standards Director, appeared before the Board and the following matters were taken up. 1905 S. Chapin Street. Mrs, David Whitmer, 1905 S. Chapin Street, appeared before the Board in reference to a letter received from the Sub -Standards Department relative to a request from the Sub -Standards Department to inspect these premises. Satisfactory explanation was made to Mrs. Whitmer" by Mr. Liszewski that routine inspections are made of all properties In the City and this request does not mean the property is sub -standard. 512 S. Taylor Street. The Sub -Standards Director reported the owner of this property .is agreeable.for the City to demolish it. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried the Sub -Standards Director was authorised to seek bids for demolition of the structure at 512 S. Taylor Street. Demolition bids opened e14 This being the date set., bids were opened for demolition of the following properties. Non collusion affidavits were found to be proper.' The bids were as follows U 724 S. Midwest Demolition Corporation $498.00 O'Neal Trucking Co. $430.00 Bryant Excavating Co. $585.00 E & D Company $637.00 Vanek Excavating Co. .$642.00 Upon motion made, seconded and carried, contract for demolition of the structure at 1114 S. Carroll Street was awarded to O'Neal Trucking. Company on its low bid of $430.00 1101 S. Carroll Street. Carroll Street was awarded to $tyant;Exravatrng;�Comppny4 �I on its low bid of $370.00. DEPARTMENT OF REDEVELOPMENT - CENTRAL DOWNTOWN PROJECT IND. R-66 INSPECTION SERVICE Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved and signed a contract between the South Bend Department of Redevelopment and the Board of Public Works and Safety, wherein the Board of Public Works; and. Safety is to render certain technical advice and assistance to the Department of Redevelopment in its urban renewal project known as Central Down Town Project Ind. R-66.
