7/6/71 <br />27 <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB -STANDARDS DIVISION <br />Richard Liszewski, Sub -Standards Director, appeared before the Board and <br />the following matters were taken up. <br />1905 S. Chapin Street. Mrs, David Whitmer, 1905 S. Chapin Street, appeared <br />before the Board in reference to a letter received from the Sub -Standards <br />Department relative to a request from the Sub -Standards Department to <br />inspect these premises. Satisfactory explanation was made to Mrs. Whitmer" <br />by Mr. Liszewski that routine inspections are made of all properties In <br />the City and this request does not mean the property is sub -standard. <br />512 S. Taylor Street. The Sub -Standards Director reported the owner of this <br />property .is agreeable.for the City to demolish it. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and unanimously carried the Sub -Standards Director was authorised <br />to seek bids for demolition of the structure at 512 S. Taylor Street. <br />Demolition bids opened <br />e14 This being the date set., bids were opened for demolition of the following <br />properties. Non collusion affidavits were found to be proper.' The bids <br />were as follows <br />U <br />724 S. Clinton Street. <br />Midwest Demolition Corporation $387.00 <br />O'Neal Trucking Co. $500.00 <br />Bryant Excavating Co. $505.00 <br />E & D Company $677.00 <br />Vanek Excavating Co. $522.00 <br />Upon motion made, seconded'and carried, contract for demolition of the <br />structure at 724 S. Clinton Street was awarded to Midwest Demolitions°,Company <br />on its low bid of $387.00. <br />1114 S. Carroll Street. <br />Midwest Demolition Corporation $498.00 <br />O'Neal Trucking Co. $430.00 <br />Bryant Excavating Co. $585.00 <br />E & D Company $637.00 <br />Vanek Excavating Co. .$642.00 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, contract for demolition of the <br />structure at 1114 S. Carroll Street was awarded to O'Neal Trucking. Company <br />on its low bid of $430.00 <br />1101 S. Carroll Street. <br />Midwest Demolition Corporation $377.00 <br />O'Neal Trucking Company $585.00 <br />Bryant Excavating Co. $370.00 <br />Vanek Excavating Co. .$542.00 <br />E & D Company $597.00 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, Contract for demolition of the <br />structure at 1101 S. Carroll Street was awarded to $tyant;Exravatrng;�Comppny4 �I <br />on its low bid of $370.00. <br />DEPARTMENT OF REDEVELOPMENT - CENTRAL DOWNTOWN PROJECT IND. R-66 <br />INSPECTION SERVICE <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved and <br />signed a contract between the South Bend Department of Redevelopment and <br />the Board of Public Works and Safety, wherein the Board of Public Works; and. <br />Safety is to render certain technical advice and assistance to the Department <br />of Redevelopment in its urban renewal project known as Central Down Town <br />Project Ind. R-66. <br />
