2 S <br />7/6/71 <br />REQUEST TO BLOCK FRANKLIN STREET - GATES CHEVROLET CORPORATION <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the request of <br />Gates Chevrolet Corporation, 333 Western Avenue, South Bend, Indiana,to <br />close.Franklin Street, between Western and Wayne Streets, from noon <br />July 15, 1971 to July l7; 1971, during its two-day'sale; on the condition <br />that the City be reimbursed for lost parking meter revenue, at the rate of <br />$2.00 per meter space per day. <br />REQUEST FOR 12 MINUTE PARKING METERS - ZIKER CLEANERS <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the request of Ziker Cleaners, 215 E. <br />Sample Street, South Bend, Indiana, for parking meters in front of its store at <br />207 W. Colfax Avenue be limited to 12 minutes was referred to the Traffic <br />Engineering Department for study and recommendation. <br />REQUEST FOR "PULL OVER LANE" ON PUBLIC STREET - AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried the request of the American Cancer <br />Society, 115 N. Taylor Street, South, Bend, Indiana, by Mr. Rick Wiedemen for <br />permission to establish a "pull -over lane" on a public street for the purpose <br />of soliciting donations from motorists was referred to the Traffic Engineering <br />Department for study and recommendation. <br />REQUEST TO BLOCK TONTI AVENUE FOR BLOCK PARTY - MRS. MAUREEN FARRELL <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the request of Mrs. <br />Maureeen Farrell, 220 Tonti Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, to block Tonti Avenue <br />in the 200 block, for a'block party from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. July 11, 1971. <br />PARKING PROHIBITED.ON S. CHAPIN STREET FROM 6:00 P.M. TO 6:00 A.M. <br />Upon motion -made, seconded and carried, the Board approved'the prohibition of <br />parking in the 200 and 300 blocks of S. Chapin Street between the hours of <br />6:00 P.M. and 6:00 A.M. as recommended by the Police Department and the Traffic <br />Engineering Department. <br />STREET LIGHT REQUEST - 600 BLOCK N. BIRDSELL STREET <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried the request for a street light in the <br />600 block of N. Birdsell Street, signed by Mrs. Cassius Henderson, 611 N. <br />Birdsell Street, and 20'others, was referred to the Traffic Engineering Depart- <br />ment for study and recommendation. <br />CONTRACTOR'S BOND REJECTED <br />Upon motion made, seconded AiO carried, the contractor's bond of Western Surety <br />Company on behalf of Ron Brown and Sons was rejected. <br />CONTRACTOR'S BOND APPROVED <br />Contractor's bond of Travelers Indemnity Company on behalf of Ron Brown and <br />Sons was approved by the Board and ordered filed. <br />EXCAVATION BOND <br />Certificate continuing excavation bond of L. 0. Hawkins, d/b/a Hawkins Plumbing <br />Company to 6/14/72 was approved and ordered filed. <br />AGREEMENT OF EASEMENT <br />S. J. Crumpacker moved for the approval of the easement submitted by North <br />Shore Woods One, an Indiana limited partnership, for the construction 6f a <br />water main in an area described in said easement. The motion was seconded by <br />Mr. Taylor and unanimously carried. <br />
