<br />COMPUTER SERVICE FOR POLICE DEPARTMENT
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the letter of Captain Gerald Knepper
<br />of the Police Department to the Board unddr date of June 14, 1971, in refer-
<br />ence to the proposed computer system for the Police Department was referred
<br />to the Legal Department for consideration along with other proposed contract
<br />documents.
<br />HEARING ON VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3337 AS AMENDED JUNE 7, 1971 - DEPARTMENT
<br />OF REDEVELOPMENT POST OFFICE SITE
<br />This being the date set for hearing on Vacation Resolution No. 3337, 1971,
<br />as amended June 7, 1971, the Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice
<br />in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri County News on June 11 and June 18,
<br />1971, which were found to be sufficient.
<br />Itil No remonstrators appeared and no written remonstrances were received.
<br />Thereupon, the motion was made, seconded and carried to finally adopt said
<br />Vacation Resolution No. 3337, 1971, as amended June 7, 1971.

<br />And the City Engineer is directed to prepare an assessment roll covering the
<br />assessment of benefits and the award of damages to surrounding property owners.
<br />CONSTRUCTION PRO)ECT - IRELAND ROAD MICHIGAN TO MIAMI - CHANGE ORDER
<br />For the improvement of Ireland Road, from Michigan Street to Miami Street, by
<br />constructing a three inch overlay of the existing pavement and 12 inch full
<br />depth asphalt widening.
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved a change in the
<br />contract with Arco Engineering Construction Corporation to construct a 200
<br />foot long, 12 foot wide, right turn lane, with a 35 foot long access taper
<br />along Ireland Road, in the northeast quadrant of the intersection of
<br />Michigan Street and Ireland Road, at an additional cost of $3,265.00,
<br />to the approval of the appropriation by the Indiana State Tax Board.
<br />REQUEST TO CLOSE ALLEY FOR ART FESTIVAL

<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the request of
<br />John R. Kagel, downtown South Bend Council, South Bend Mishawaka Area Chamber
<br />of Commerce, 320 W. Jefferson Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana, to close the
<br />alley between the Sherland Building and the Municipal Parking Garage, from
<br />Jefferson Boulevard north, from 10:60 A.M. until dusk, on June 26 and 27,
<br />1971, during the Art Festival.
<br />REQUEST TO BLOCK N. GORDON DRIVE FOR BLOCK PARTY
<br />Upon motion made, seconded andcarried, the Board approved the blocking of
<br />N. Gordon Drive from the northern part of Gordon Circle to Rose Street,
<br />for a block party on August 21, 1971, between the hours of 4;00 P.M. and
<br />midnight.
<br />REQUEST TO PARK TRAILER IN FRONT OF ROBERTSON'S STORE
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, and upon the recommendation of the
<br />Traffic Engineering Department, the Board approved the request of Charles E.
<br />Mertins, Treasurer and Controller, Robertson's Department Store, 211 S.
<br />Michigan Street, South Bend, Indiana, to park a semi -trailer in front of
<br />the store on Michigan Street from June 23 through June 27, 1971, on the
<br />condition that meter space fees are paid according to City ordinance.
<br />REQUEST TO USE OLD FIRE STATION #10 - HENRY HOWELL
<br />The request of Henry Howell, 725 N. St. Peter Street, South Bend, Indiana,
<br />to use the old Fire Station ##10, at 1820 S. Michigan Street, South Bend,
<br />Indiana, for a gymnasium for young people, was taken under advisement.
