2�0 <br />6/21/71 <br />APPOINTMENT AS SPECIAL POLICE OFFICER DENIED-JAMESVI.LLIAM GALVAS <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the application for a special police <br />commission by James William Galvas, 1633 S. Pulaski Street, South Bend,, <br />Indiana, was denied by the Board for the reason that such special police <br />commission does not appear to be necessary in the scope of his duties as a <br />security guard at Lou-Ann's Country Mart. <br />CONTRACTORS' BONDS <br />Certificate continuing contractor's bond for Willie's Construction Company <br />to 6/17/72 was approved and ordered filed. <br />Contractor's bond for William J. Echard to 6/14/72 was approved and ordered <br />filed. <br />CONTRACTORS' BONDS - ACTION POSTPONED <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, contractors' bonds of the Western <br />Surety Company for Ron Brown and Sons and for Wilton F. Seymore, d/b/a <br />Three Way Construction Company were taken under advisement for one week. <br />CONTRACTOR'S BOND TERMINATED <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the termination of <br />contractor's bond ##1 493 612 of the Ohio Casualty Insurance Company, for <br />the South Bend Christian Reformed Church, for all work done on and after June <br />21, 1971. <br />STREET LIGHT PETITION <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the petition for a street light on <br />North Swanson Circle signed by Paul Oedekerk, 203 N. Swanson Circle East, <br />South Bend, Indiana, and 11 others, was referred to the Traffic Engineering <br />Department for study and recommendation. <br />STREET LIGHTING - LOGAN STREET <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the matter of street lighting on . <br />Logan Street, at Wall and Hastings Streets, was referred to the City Engineer <br />for discussion with the City of Mishawaka who has the agreement to light <br />Logan Street in this area. <br />TRAFFIC REGULATION APPROVED - BOLAND AND RIVERSIDE <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the recommendation <br />of the Traffic Engineering Department to install a stop sign and post on the <br />southwest corner of Boland and Riverside. <br />BOARD MEETINGS DATE C.RANGED FROM 7/5/71 TO 7/6/71 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the regular meeting of the Board of <br />Public Works and Safety scheduled for 9:30 A.M. on Monday, July 5, 1971, <br />was set over until Tuesday, July 6, 1971, at 9:30 A.M., July 5th, 1971, be ng <br />a legal holiday. <br />MRS. JANET ALLEN, COUNCILMAN AT LARGE attended the meeting. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS for the period 6/10/71 to 6/18/71 were ordered filed. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting adjourned <br />at 1100 A.M. <br />1 <br />1 <br />
