REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 22, 1973 The studies will continue and a comprehensive report will be forwarded. This study will also include Miami from Ridgedale to the intersection :of Miami and Ireland Road. Mr. Barcome reported that he had talked with Mr. Hazinski regarding this matter and if was felt that by next spring the volume would warrant the signals. RECOMMENDATION ON CLOSING OF WASHINGTON STREET The Board received a recommendation from Clem Hazinski, Manager, Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, that the request of Rasmussen's Men's Store to close Washington Street from Michigan Street to Main Street on October 28, 1973 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to allow them to move their stock and fixtures to their new store could be approved. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the request subject to Rasmussen's filing liability insurance with the Board to hold the City harmless from any liability. REQUESTS FOR STREET LIGHTS The Board received the following petitions for street lights: =11 O A. Petition submitted by Councilman Joseph Serge for light at the South end of Sherman Avenue a U B. Petition -.submitted by Councilman Frank Horvath for lighting the 2800 and 2900 blocks of Southeast Drive. C. Petition submitted by Raymond F. Bechtold for light on Clyde Street, between Fairview and Victoria Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board referred the petitions to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for investigation and report. SIGNING OF TITLE SHEET - FLORAL PLACE AND MAYFLOWER'ROAD SEWER EXTENSION The Board received the title sheet for the construction of a sewer extension at Floral Place and Mayflower Road. The plans have been approved by -,-the Bureau of Engineering and the construction will be subject to City inspection. There will be no cost to the City. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved and signed the title sheet. REPORT FROM JAMES A. ROEMER ON VT TRASH RECEPTACLES The following memorandum was received: October 18, 1973 To: Board of Public Works From: James A. Roemer, City Attorney Subject: Trash Receptacles At the direction of the Board of Public Works, I met with V T Enterprises, Inc. in regard to the questions raised by Mrs. Mardella Hensler at the Board of Public Works meeting on October 15th. Mrs. Hensler had indicated that V T Enterprises, Inc. sells their receptacles. I personally met with Americo Lucchi and requested that they write the attached letter which indicates that the receptacles are not sold but remain the property of V T Enterprises.. They sell only advertising. The Board requested that I check this matter out and this is my report on the single issue raised. s% James A. Roemer City Attorney
