REGULAR MEETING OCTOB.ER 1, 1973 <br />The following property may be injuriously or beneficially affected by such <br />vacation: Lots No. 307 and 308. <br />Notice of this Resolution shall be published on the 5th and 12th day of October, <br />1973 in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News. <br />This Board, at its office, on the 29th day of October, 1973 at 9:30 o'clock A.M. <br />will hear and receive remonstrances from all persons interested in or affected <br />by these proceedings. <br />Adopted this 1st day of Ocrober, 1973. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />s/ Rollin E. Barcome <br />Attest: <br />s/ Patricia DeClercq, Clerk <br />AWARDING OF BID - SALT FOR BUREAU OF STREETS <br />The Board received a recommendation from Donald Decker, Manager, Bureau of Streets, <br />to award the salt bid to the Domtar Salt Company on their low bid of $12.17 a ton. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the recommendation and <br />awarded the bid. <br />LETTER FROM COUNTY COMMISSIONERS RE: FENCE AT WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT <br />The Board received the following letter: <br />September 28, 1973 <br />Board of Public Works <br />County -City Building <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />The proposal to locate the fence that would normally be between <br />the South Bend Wastewater Treatment Plant and.the County Highway Garage <br />on County property is acceptable to us. We can appreciate the problem <br />of locating the fence in this area due to the hill between the two <br />properties. However, by locating the fence on the top of the hill and <br />on County property, we expect --and this agreement is contingent upon the <br />City's maintenance of the property on the east side of the fence. <br />Sincerely yours, <br />THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />st August H. Meert <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board accepted the conditions <br />outlined in the Commissioners' letter in regard to the fence and ordered the <br />letter filed. <br />AGREEMENT - STREET AND SEWER IMPROVEMENTS - COLFAX AND ORANGE STREET <br />An Engineering Agreement between the City of South Bend and Cole Associates, Inc. <br />for Street and Sewer Improvements on Colfax Street and Orange Street between <br />LaPorte Avenue and Bendix Drive was presented to.the Board. Mr. Farrand explained <br />that this agreement was negotiated by William J. Richardson, former City Engineer, <br />but there was .a delay in funding. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the <br />Board approved the agreement. <br />1 <br />
