REGULAR MEETING <br />REQUEST FOR RELEASE OF BONDS <br />SEPTEMBER 24 1973 <br />The Board received a request for the release of the Contractor's Bond for <br />Enders & Longway. Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering, informed the Board <br />that there are no outstanding claims against this contractor and the bond may <br />be released. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board released the <br />Contractor's Bond for Enders & Longway, effective this date. <br />The Board received a request for the release of the Excavation Bond for the <br />Workinger Electric Company. Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering, reported <br />that the bond had been reviewed and could be released. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the Board approved the release of the Excavation Bond for <br />the Workinger Electric Company, effective this date. <br />RECOMMENDATION FOR INSTALLATION OF STREET LIGHTS <br />The Board received recommendations from the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />for the following installations: <br />A.Brummitt, South of Edison. Install one 7,000L MV OH WP <br />Cost - $3.75/mo. or $45.00/yr. <br />�. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the installation was approved. <br />B.Mid-Block Light, Raleigh Drive, south of Cambridge Drive. Install one <br />7,000L MV OH WP. Cost - $3.75/mo. or $45.00/yr. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the installation was approved. <br />C.Bercliff Estates area. Install five 7,000L MV OH WP. <br />Cost - $18.75/mo. or $225.00/yr. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the installation was approved. <br />RECOMMENDATION FOR PARKING METER TIME LIMIT CHANGE NEAR OLD POST OFFICE <br />The Board received a recommendation from Clem Hazinski, Manager of the Bureau of <br />Traffic and Lighting that the demand for short term parkers in front of the Old <br />Post Office Building no longer exists. Mr. Hazinski recommended that one meter be <br />removed to extend the space at the drop box and that the other meters be changed <br />from 12 minute meters to one hour time limit meters. Upon motion made, seconded <br />and carried, the Board approved the recommendation. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT <br />The Street Light Outage Report for the period of September 11 to September 19 was <br />received and ordered filed. <br />RECOMMENDATION REGARDING SALE OF FIRE ENGINE <br />The Board received the following memorandum from James A. Roemer, City Attorney: <br />To: Board of Public Works <br />From: James A. Roemer, City Attorney Subject: 1957 Maxim Fire Engine <br />We have reviewed your memo of September 17th with the -attached letter from <br />Mr. Gordon Alan Perry. <br />We are recommending that this fire truck be bid again since there is a good <br />possibility we might get a bid for more than $975.00. Make sure we send a <br />copy of the bid to Mr. Donald Kaufman so that he can bid again. <br />After we award the bid, we will then make determination whether or not we <br />should pursue Mr. Perry for damages as a result of failure to follow through <br />on his bid. 1 assume he did not have a bid bond. <br />s/ James A.
