Ems <br />REQUEST FOR WALKATHON - MARCH OF DIMES <br />The Board received a request from the March of Dimes to hold their annual <br />Walkathon on Saturday, April 6, 1974. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, <br />the Board referred the request to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for <br />investigation and recommendation. <br />REQUEST FOR PARADE - RILEY HIGH SCHOOL <br />The Board received a request from Riley High School to hold a football parade <br />on October 4, 19.73 in an area near the school. They are requesting a police <br />escort. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board referred the request <br />to Clem Hazinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, with the <br />request that if he approves, he should communicate directly with Mr. Thomas at <br />Riley High School because of the shortness of time. <br />REQUEST TO DESIGNATE CLEMENS STREET AS A PLAY STREET <br />The Board received a request from Mr. George Stanton, 919 Oak Ridge Drive, that <br />Clemens Street, bounded by Corby on the North and Campeau on the south be <br />designated as a play street for neighborhood children. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the Board referred the request to the Bureau of Engineering <br />for investigation and recommendation. <br />REQUEST TO BLOCK BARBERRY LANE <br />Miss Sherll Britton requested that the Board block a part of Barberry Lane on <br />Saturday, October 6th for her wedding reception. The request involves the 1000 <br />block and would be for 3:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for <br />investigation and recommendation. <br />APPROVAL OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Requests for the approval of the following traffic control devices were <br />received: <br />A. Installation of a Yield Sign on Alpine Drive at York Road because <br />of the increased volume of traffic on York. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the request was approved. <br />B. Installation of a Stop Sign on Bercliff Drive at Logan Street. This <br />is a "Tee" intersection and Logan Street has been widened at this <br />location. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved <br />the installation. <br />C. Present Yield Signs to be replaced with Stop Signs at Meade Street <br />and Fredrickson. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board <br />approved the installation. <br />CHANGE ORDER - AIRPORT INDUSTRIAL PARK PROJECT <br />The Board received a Change Order for the Airport Inddstrial Park project, <br />Woodruff & Sons Contractor. The Change Order is an increase in the amount <br />of $1,378.80. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the <br />Change Order. <br />CERTIFICATES OF INSURANCE FILED <br />The Board received Certificates of Insurance from David E. McDaniel, Inc., <br />Valley Cablevision Corporation and Woodruff and Sons. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the Certificates were referred to the Bureau of <br />Engineering for study and recommendation. <br />BONDS APPROVED . <br />The Board received a recommendation from Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering, <br />that the following bonds were in order and could be approved: <br />Excavation Bond for Wenger Electric, Inc. to 9/20/74 <br />Contractor's Bond for Walsh and Kelly, Inc. to 9/12/74 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the bonds were approved to the dates <br />listed. <br />
