REGULAR MEETING <br />AUGUST 27, 1973 <br />The Church did provide the Board with a parade route, beginning at the church <br />on Blaine Avenue and using neighborhood streets in the area. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the Board approved the parade request. Proof of indemnity <br />coverage is on file in the Board Office. <br />APPROVAL OF BLOCK PARTIES <br />The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting investigated requests for Block Parties to <br />be held on North Woodhill Lane on September 1 from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.., on <br />Manitou Place on September 4 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and on Devonshire <br />Drive on September 2, 1973 at 3:30 p,.m. Mr. Hazinski recommended that approval <br />be given subject to the Police Department being notified and the city being <br />indemnified. Upon -motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved ,the <br />three Block Parties, contingent upon notice of indemnification being received by <br />the Board Office. <br />APPROVAL OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />The Board received a recommendation from the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting that <br />Stop Signs be installed at Reo and Buick, Buick and Colfax and Olds and Buick. <br />This is a recently annexed area with no traffic control and the volume of traffic <br />warrants the installation. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board <br />approved the installation. <br />CHANGE ORDERS IN TOPICS T6000(6) <br />The Board received two change orders in the Main Street Viaduct Project, Topics <br />T6000(6) as follows: <br />1. Items 29 and 32, Pipe Group L Increased $180.90 <br />2. Items 45 and 46, Reconstruction <br />Structure Manhole and Castings Adjusted Increased $300.00 <br />Mr. Farrand indicated that these were.the last change orders on this project. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the change orders were approved. <br />REQUEST FOR STREET LIGHTS <br />The Board received a request from Councilman Walter Kopczynski for the installation <br />of two street lights; one at the first alley south of Ford Street, on the East side <br />of Kaley Street and the second on Huron Street, mid -block between Liberty and <br />Camden. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board referred the request to <br />the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for investigation and recommendation. <br />RECOMMENDATION FOR INSTALLATION OF STREET LIGHTS <br />The Board received the following recommendations from the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting for installation of street lights: <br />1. The area bounded by Portage, Harrison, Lincolnway West and Wilber <br />Install 28 7,000LMVOH WP @ $3.75/mo. $105.00 <br />Install 31 7,000LMVOH WP @ $3.50/mo. 108.50 <br />$213.50 <br />Remove 31 - 4,000 INC OH WP @ $2.60 80.60 <br />Cost (A less B) $132.90/mo. or $1,594.80/yr. <br />2. .The area bounded by Linden, Sheridan, Washington and Lombardy. <br />Install 29 7,000L MV OH WP @ $3.75/mo. $108.75 <br />Install 15 7,000L MV OH WP @ $3.50/mo. 52.50 <br />Install 2 209000L MV OH WP @ $5.50/mo. 11.00 <br />Install 1 20,000L MV OH WP @ $5.35/mo. 5.35 <br />$177.60 <br />Remove 16 49000L INC OH WP @ $2.60/mo. 41.60 <br />Coast (A less B) $136.00/mo. or $1,632.00/yr. <br />C <br />C <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the installations. <br />
