REGULAR MEETING <br />AUGUST 27, 1973 <br />34'.7 <br />1 <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT <br />The Street Light Outage Report for the period of August 17, 1973 to August 23, <br />1973 were received and ordered filed. <br />LETTER FROM DONALD GERMANN, CIVIL DEFENSE DIRECTOR <br />The following letter was received: <br />August 27, 1973 <br />Board of Public Works <br />Gentlemen: <br />The St. Joseph County Department of Civil Defense expresses <br />its great gratitude to the public officials who attended the disaster <br />exercise Saturday, August 25. Without such dedicated people, I am <br />sure that we would not be able to cope with the potential disasters <br />for this area. <br />According to our State Department and governmental observers, <br />they believe from their observance and survey that we are capable of <br />coping with such disasters, <br />Again, thanks to you and your departmental heads that participated <br />in this exercise. <br />Sincerely, <br />s/ Donald H. Germann, Coordinator <br />St. Joseph County Civil Defense <br />The Board commended Mr. Germann for his efforts in this project and ordered the <br />letter filed. <br />CHANGE OF DATE FOR NEXT MEETING <br />Because of the Labor Day Holiday, the Board, upon moti-on made, seconded and <br />carried, changed the date of the next meeting to Tuesday, September 4, 1973 <br />at 10:30.a.m. <br />RECOMMENDATION ON PETITION TO VACATE A PART OF KERR STREET <br />Mr. David A. Wells, Manager, Bureau of Design and Administration, reported to <br />the Board that the petition to vacate a portion of Kerr Street has been investigated <br />and a utility check made. The Bureau of Engineering has no objection to the <br />vacation providing that .utility easements are retained.
