331 <br />REGULAR MEETING JULY 30, 1973 <br />Lot No. 29, Sommers Addition to the City of South Bend, commonly <br />known as 1134 E. Cedar Street. Offering Price - $1,510.00. <br />A parcel 31 feet east and west by 92.4 feet north and south, being <br />a part of Lots No. 96 and 97, Commi-ssioner's Subdivision of Bank <br />Out Lot No.<'79, 2nd Plat of Out Lots in the City of South Bend, <br />commonly known as 1230 West Colfax Avenue. Offering Price - $560.00. <br />REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS - R & S PROJECT 48, CONTRACT 2 <br />The Board received a request from Rollin E. Farrand, Director of Public Works, <br />to advertise for bids for R & S Project 48, Ironwood Road STORM DRAINAGE AND <br />IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM, Contract 2 on August 3 and August 10, 1973 with bids <br />to be received on August 13, 1973. Upon motion made,. seconded and carried, <br />the Board approved the request and the Clerk was directed to advertise forbids. <br />APPROVAL OF CANCER FUND DRIVE <br />The Board received a recommendation from Clem Hazinski, Manager of the Bureau <br />of Traffic and Lighting, that approval be given to the American Cancer Society <br />"Cancer Toll" project on August 25.. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, <br />the Board approved the recommendation to allow the fund drive at the locations <br />agreed upon by the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting. The Police Department is <br />Ca to be notified. <br />REPORT FROM BUREAU OF TRAFFIC AND LIGHTING REGARDING TEMPORARY PARKING METERS <br />The Board received a report from Clem Hazinski, Manager of the Bureau of <br />Traffic and Lighting, that temporary parking meters have been installed in <br />the 100 block of North Michigan Street as directed by the Board. The report <br />was ordered filed. <br />APPROVAL OF PARKING RESTRICTION ON MIAMI <br />The Board received a recommendation from Clem Hazinski, Manager of the Bureau <br />of Traffic and Lighting, that parking be restricted on Milami Street as follows: <br />No parking from 6 AM to 9 AM on the East Side of Miami from <br />Indiana to Lincolnway East. <br />No parking from 3 PM to 6PM on the West Side of Miami from <br />Lincolnway East to Miami. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the restriction. <br />RECOMMENDATION FOR AMENDMENT TO -PARKING METER ORDINANCE <br />The Board received a recommendation from Clem Hazinski, Manager of the Bureau <br />of Traffic and Lighting, that the Parking Meter Ordinance, Section 20-51 of <br />the Municipal Code, be amended to`'include: <br />1. William Street from LaSalle to Western <br />2. Jefferson from William to Taylor <br />3. Lafayette from LaSalle to Navarre <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the recommendation <br />and requested that the Legal Department draft an ordinance amending the Parking <br />Meter Ordinance to include the changes approved today and submit it to the <br />Common Council with the favorable recommendation of the Board. <br />COMPLAINT - ABORTION ADVERTISEMENTS ON TRASH CONTAINERS <br />Mrs. Robert Hunt, 1102 N. Lafayette Blvd., a member of the "Right to Life <br />Committee" was present and spoke to,the Board, voicing her opposition to.the <br />abortion advertisements which appear on the Panel -Ad trash containers on.City <br />streets. Mr. Roemer advised Mrs. Hunt that the Legal Department is investigating <br />
