30 REGULAR MEETING JULY 2, 1973 I concur that an ordinance would have an effect in reducing incidents of trucks "hanging up" under the viaducts. All are signed adequately and the driver of the truck has a responsibility of knowing the limitations of the rig he is driving and to look for signage. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board ordered the recommendation filed and referred to the Legal Department for research into a possible ordinance. REPORT FROM BUREAU OF BUILDINGS RE: TENT SALE The Board received the following recommendation: June 26, 1973 To: Board of Public Works From: Bureau of Buildings and Permits Subject: Tent Sale - Radio and Furniture Mart It is recommended that the request of the Radio and Furniture Mart tc hold a sale under tents for four (4) days in the middle of July, be approved, subject to the usual requirements of the Fire Prevention Bureau. West Building Commissioner Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the request for the tent sale subject to requirements of the Fire Prevention Bureau. CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE - NORTH AMERICAN SIGNS. SOUTH BEND NEON. INC. The Board received a Certificate of Insurance from North American Signs, South Bend Neon, Inc. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board referred the Certificate to the Legal Department for examination and recommendation. CONTRACTOR'S BOND CONTINUATION CERTIFICATES The Board received Contractor's Bond Continuation Certificates for Jay A. Kretchmer, Verlin V. Engle d/b/a Engle Construction Company, and Kenneth Story. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board referred the Continuation Certificates to the Division of Engineering for investigation. STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT The Street Light Outage report for the period of June 19, 1973 to June 27, 1973 was received and ordered filed. COMPLAINT REGARDING WEEDS ON NATIONAL GUARD ARMORY PROPERTY Councilman Frank Horvath was present and called the attention of the Board to the problem of high weeds at the National Guard Armory property on Kemble Avenue. He said residents of Swygart Street have complained to him about this. Mr. Seitz said that he would investigate this matter and contact the Commanding Officer of the Armory. Councilman Horvath asked the Board about progress in the matter of the motorcycle problem at the Armory and Mr. Roemer said that the Board of Public Safety had written the Adjutant General in Indianapolis requesting that the National Guard bulldoze the hill and fence the property. There has been no reply to that letter. A letter was then directed from the Board of Public Works to the Adjutant General in regard to this matter.
