REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 18, 1973 <br />Gentlemen: <br />This department received a verbal request from Councilman Taylor for an additional <br />street light on High Street in the vicinity of the new Synagogue, south of Donmoyer. <br />[t is recommended that a 7,000L MV OH be installed on an existing pole. <br />Cost: <br />Install 1 - 7,000L MV OH WP C@ $3.75/mo. or $45.00/yr. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />William J. Wadzinski - Engineer <br />Bureau of Traffic & Lighting - <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the above recommen- <br />dation for an additional street light on High Street, subject to availability <br />ii✓ <br />of funds. <br />Q REQUEST TO ATTEND TRAFFIC ENGINEERS DISTRICT III CONFERENCE,-.CLEM HAZINSKI <br />U <br />A memo was received from Clem Hazinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting, requesting permission to attend the Institute of Traffic Engineers <br />District III Conference at Angola, Indiana on Friday, June 22, 1973 and Saturday, <br />June 23, 1973. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved Mr. <br />Hazinski's request. <br />REPORT ON POSTING OF "NO TRESPASSING" SIGNS ON CITY -PROPERTY <br />was received <br />A report/from Clem Hazinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic F. Lighting, on <br />the Board's request for no trespassing signs along the river in the vicinity of <br />St. Joseph and Jefferson Streets. He reported that an investigation was made <br />with a representative of the Redevelopment Department and locations were found <br />for three signs to state "Government Property - Keep Out"., These signs have <br />been ordered installed. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board <br />ordered the letter filed. <br />REQUEST FOR APPROVAL OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon motion made, seconded and.carried, the Board approved the following traffic <br />control devices: <br />New installation of a stop sign on Bulia Street at Wellington. Increased <br />volume and street improvements warrant such installation. <br />Replace yield with stop sign on the northeast corner on Washington Street <br />at Hawthorne. .Sight distance no longer sufficient for a yield sign instal- <br />lation. <br />New installation of a stop sign on Fairfax at Miami. Increased volume at <br />this intersection with Miami which is an arterial warrants installation. <br />HOWELL CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC. - CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE <br />A certificate of insurance for the Howell Construction Co., Inc. was received <br />by the Board and upon motion made, seconded, and carried was referred to.the,Legal <br />Department for investigation and report back to the Board. <br />CONTRACTOR'S AND EXCAVATION BONDS APPROVED <br />The Board received a recommendation from Mr. Raymond Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineer- <br />ing that the following bonds have been investigated and can be approved: , <br />Contractor's Bond - Floyd J. & Al Wachowiak to 12/31/73 <br />Contractor's -Bond Boerich Construction to 5/30/74 <br />Contractor's Bond - Dye Plumbing & Heating to 5/11/74 <br />Excavation Bond - Dye Plumbing & Heating to 1/10/74 <br />Excavation Bond - Dells Plumbing Service to 12/31/73 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the Bonds. <br />
