REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 11, 1973 <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT <br />The Street Light Outage Report for the period of 5/23/73 to 6/6/73 was received <br />and ordered filed. <br />REQUEST TO ATTEND BOCA CONFERENCE - FORREST R. WEST <br />The following letter was presented to the Board: <br />June 11, 1973 <br />To: Board of Public Works <br />From: Bureau of Buildings and Permits <br />Subject: BOCA Conference <br />It is requested that permission be granted for the undersigned <br />to attend the 58th annual conference of the Building Officials and Code <br />Administrators International at Philadelphia, Pa., on June 17-22, 1973. <br />This is a budget approved item and funds therefore are avail- <br />able in Account Number M-213. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />s/ Forrest R. West <br />Building Commissioner <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the request <br />of Forrest R. West to attend the BOCA Conference. <br />COMPLAINT - SPEEDING AT THE INTERSECTION OF MAIN AND MARION STREETS <br />It was brought to the attendion of the Board that Mrs. Janet Allen called <br />the Board office on the morning of the meeting and complained about the <br />intersection of Main and Marion Streets. She explained that the noise is <br />unbearable. Cars have been speeding and using it like a race track. She <br />commented she did not know what the Board could do about it, but she <br />wanted it called to their attention. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, <br />the Board referred this complaint to the Police Department for investigation <br />and report. <br />PROPOSAL TO REDESIGN SCUM BURNER BUILDING - WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT ADDITIONS <br />The following letter was presented to the Board from Clyde E. Williams & Assoc.: <br />City of South Bend June 6, 1973 <br />Department of Public Works <br />County -City Building <br />South Bend, Indiana 46601 <br />Gentlemen: <br />In accordance with our previous conversation, we submit this as out- proposal <br />to redesign the Scum Burner Building for the current South Bend Wastewater <br />Treatment Plant Additions. <br />We will redesign the building to accept a future scum burner unit, to be <br />sized for the estimated scum load to be anticipated from the expanded plant <br />design flow. The building will be arranged, as far as possible, so that the <br />future burner unit may be installed without demolishing any part of the <br />building. <br />also <br />We will/obtain a quotation from the Contractor for his added price to construct <br />the building as redesigned. <br />This work will be "Additional Service", Section II, A, 4, under our Contract <br />dated April 5, 1965, and our fee will be computed as called out. in Section V, <br />B, 1, not to exceed $1,400.00. <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />
