REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 11, 1973 <br />Renewal Plan for this project acquisition is 85% complete with six (6) condem- <br />nations filed and three (3) notices sent. Lennon, Jr. <br />Executive Director <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the above letter was ordered filed. <br />RECOMMENDATION - COURTESY CAB ASSOCIATION REQUEST FOR TAXI STANDS <br />The Board received a recommendation from Mr. Clem Hazinski, Manager, Bureau of <br />Traffic and Lighting, that approval be given for their request that meters 2, <br />4 and 6 at 216 W. Wayne Street be removed and converted to taxi stands. It was <br />further recommended that upon relocation of the Courtesy Cab Company that meters <br />Q 16, 18 and 20 be reinstalled in fron of 124 S. Mai-n Street. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the Board accepted Mr. Hazinski's recommendation and <br />U approved that meters 2, 4 and 6 be removed and converted to taxi stands. <br />REQUEST FOR APPROVAL OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />The Board received requests for the installation of the following traffic control <br />devices from William J. Richardson, Director of Public Works, and Clem Hazinski, <br />Manager, Bureau of Traffic and Lighting: <br />1. Recommended installation of "No Parking Passenger Loading <br />Zone" in the 200 block W. Madison for a distance of 55 feet <br />east of Court. Street on the south side of Madison St. The <br />1st Methodist Church will begin the operation of a nursery <br />school at that location. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />carried, the Board approved the installation. <br />2. Recommended revising a yield sign to a stop sign at <br />Viking and Eastmont. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />carried, the revision was approved. <br />3. Recommended installation of a stop sign at the intersection <br />of Frederickson at Johnson Streets because of increased <br />volume. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board <br />approved the installation. devices. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the above traffic control / <br />REPORT ON RE -CONSTRUCTION OF RAILROAD CROSSING - 500 BLOCK S. WALNUT STREET <br />A memo was received from the Board of Public Safety requesting to be advised <br />as to the present status of the engineering survey and design for the re- <br />construction of the railroad crossing in the 500 block S. Walnut Street. <br />Mr. David Wells, Bureau of Administration and Design, explained to the Board <br />that this project is in engineering design stages at the present time, and <br />is approximately 20% completed. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the <br />Board ordered the memo filed and that a communication of the present status <br />be sent to the Board of Public Safety. <br />EXCAVATION BONDS FILED <br />The following Excavation Bonds were filed with the Board: <br />Excavation bond continuation certificate - E.A. Sidorowicz d/b/a Sid's Plumbing <br />and Heating <br />Excavation bond - The Hickey Company, Inc. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the bonds were referred to Mr. Hugh <br />Gammon, Bureau of Construction for investigation and report. <br />
