Seitz <br />Upon motion <br />made, <br />seconded and carried, the Board gave their authorization to <br />proceed with <br />the <br />redesigning in an amount not to exceed $1,400.00. The present <br />scum burner <br />does <br />not meet with St. Joseph County Air Pollution Control Standards. <br />Therefore, a <br />new <br />scum burner will have to be purchased and the use of the present <br />r{ <br />one limited <br />to emergency <br />use only. <br />ROLLIN E. Seitz <br />ATTEST: <br />CLERK <br />I <br />MEMO FROM BOARD OF PUBLIC SAFETY - RE: MOTORCYCLISTS NEAR INDIANA GUARD ARMORY <br />The Board received the following memo from the Board of Public Safety: <br />At the Board of Public Safety meeting on June 5, 1973, the Board received several <br />letters, copies of which are attached, in regard to motorcyclists on the National <br />Guard Armory property and on the City streets near Walker Field. There was a <br />discussion on actions which could be taken to eliminate this problem. The Board <br />of Safety is writing to the Indiana National Guard requesting that they remove the <br />hill on their property and fence it off. <br />The Board is requesting that the Board of Public Works post speed limits in the <br />area concerned in an effort to reduce the danger to pedestrians. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board ordered the memo filed and <br />referred it to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for recommendation and report <br />back to the Board. <br />
