REGULAR MEETING JUNE 49 1973 Mr. Paul Boehm, Director of Public Relations and discussed this proposal with the Board, carried, The Board approved the proposed bike for the Park Department, was present Upon motion made, seconded and route as revised by Mr. Hazinski. REQUEST FOR TAXICAB STANDS - COURTESY CAB COMPANY The following letter was received and read by the Board: May 29, 1973 Department of Public Works City -County Building South Bend, Indiana 46601 Gentlemen: Due to the Urban Renewal Program in the downtown area, it is necessary for us to vacate our office at 124 South Main Street by'July 31,, 1973. We have found a new location at 216 W. Wayne Street which suits our purpose to maintain our walk-in business to service the offices and businesses in the downtown area. Before signing our lease and com- pleting our negotiations for this location, it is imperative that we have approval from your department to convert meters.2, 4, and 6 into taxicab stands .in order that we can continue to serve the public needs for this type facility. We would appreciate an early response and approval of our request for three taxicab stands at the 216 West Wayne Street location. Sincerely, Courtesy Cab Association s/ Richard C. CHANGE IN TOPICS T6000(6) PLANS - S. MAIN STREET RECONSTRUCTION The Board received a recommendation from the Department of Public Works for a change in Contract Item #7, Contract No. TX9092, with the Arco Construction Company, increasing the contract by $1,931.40. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the change. The Board received a recommendation from the Department of Public Works for a change in Contract Item #8, Contract No. TX9092, with the Arco Construction Company, increasing the contract by $420.00. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the change. REQUEST FOR STREET LIGHT The Board received the following request: May 25, 1973 Board of Works 13th Floor, County -City Building South Bend, Indiana Dear Sirs: We The Undersigned request a street light on the North-East corner of Lindsey and Scott Streets for the protection of lives and property.
