1 <br />O <br />Q <br />U <br />1 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 4, 1973 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board referred the request to the <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for investigation and report. <br />CONTRACTOR'S AND EXCAVATION BONDS FILED <br />The following Contractor's and Excavation Bonds were filed with the Board: <br />Contractors <br />Dye Plumbing & Heating Co. <br />Floyd J. and Al Wachowi,ak <br />Kenneth Story <br />Engle Construction Co. <br />Boerich Construction Co. <br />Excavation <br />Dye Plumbing.& Heating Co. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the bonds were referred to Mr. Hugh <br />Gammon, Bureau of Construction, for investigation and report. <br />CONTRACTOR'S BONDS APPROVED <br />The Board received a recommendation from Mr. Raymond Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering <br />that the following bonds have been investigated and can be approved: <br />Contractor's Bond - Booker T. Hosea to 5125174 <br />Contractor's Bond - Gene V. Schlueter and Charles Dickey to 5/23/74 <br />Contractor's Bond - Pablo Rodriguez to 5/22/74 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the bonds. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT <br />The Street Light Outage Report for the period of 5/24/73 to 5/30/73 was received <br />and ordered filed. <br />PROJECT CHANGE ORDER - SOUTH MAIN STREET STORM SEWERS <br />A Project Change Order on Project CS-3, South Main Street Storm Sewer with <br />Howell Construction Company, decreasing the contract by $725.00 was received. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Change Order was approved. <br />RECOMMENDATION ON ALLEY VACATION - N-S ALLEY BETWEEN SUNNYSIDE AND TWYCKENHAM <br />The Board received a favorable recommendation from the Bureau of Engineering in <br />regard to the petition to vacate the north -south alley between Sunnyside Avenue <br />and Twyckenham Avenue from the south right-of-way line of E. Wayne Street South <br />to the north right-of-way line of the east -west alley between E. Wayne Street South <br />and Sunnymede Avenue, situated between Lots No. 164 and 165 in Sunnymede 1st <br />Addition. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the recommenda- <br />tion and referred the petition to the Area Plan Commission for their investigation <br />and report. <br />REQUEST TO USE LOUD SPEAKER <br />Mr. Lawrence X was present representing the Black Muslim Group. Mr. X requested <br />permission from the Board to use a loud speaker on a car on Monday, Tuesday, <br />Wednesday and Thursday of this week to publicize the appearance here on Thursday <br />of Yusef Hasiz. Mr. James Roemer, City Attorney, explained to the Board that he <br />had met with Mr. X prior to the meeting this morning. Mr. Roemer then called to <br />the attention of the Board Section 13.57E of the Municipal Code and read a portion of that <br />Section stating that the use of a loudspeaker on the public streets would be a <br />violation of the Code. Mr. Roemer then recommended to the Board that the request not <br />be allowed. The Board, upon motion made, seconded and carried, disallowed the <br />request. They suggested to Mr. X that he could use signs on cars and distribute <br />flyers to publicize this affair. <br />
