REGULAR MEETING <br />MAY 7, 1973 <br />1 <br />1 <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works has the authority to make such improvements <br />as provided by the General Assembly, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Public Works orders the Department of Public <br />Works to prepare the plans, specifications, cost estimates, secure the <br />necessary right-of-way, permits, appropriations, and to seek bids for <br />and to construct said section of Bendix Drive. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />s/ William J. Mr. Richardson explained that the <br />resolution involves a triangle of land, containing 1.89 acres, located near the <br />Penn Central Railroad Tracks, Tasher Street and Jennings Street. Super Auto <br />Salvage leases the land from the City. There is no public access to the land <br />and it is not needed by the City. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the <br />resolution was adopted. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 16-1973 <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF A CERTAIN <br />PARCEL OF REAL ESTATE OWNED BY THE C I TY OF <br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend,indiana has compiled <br />a current detailed inventory of all real property owned by the City of <br />South Bend, Indiana, pursuant to Section 30-A-1 of the Municipal Code <br />of the City of South Bend; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works has reviewed said inventory of real property and <br />it now finds that certain of the parcels of real estate now owned by the <br />City are not necessary to the public use and are not set aside by state <br />or city law for public purposes pursuant to Section 30A-2 of the Municipal <br />Code of the City of South Bend; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works now wishes to take the necessary action to <br />make it possible for the Board, in the future, to sell said parcels of <br />real estate pursuant to Chapter 30A of the Municipal Code of the City <br />of South Bend, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works of the City of South <br />Bend, Indiana: <br />1. That a parcel of real estate owned by the City, described as <br />being bounded by the Easterly line of the right-of-way of the <br />Penn Central Railroad, the South line of Tasher-Street extended, <br />the East line of Section 23, Township 37 North, Range 2 East, and <br />the South line of Jennings Street extended, and containing 1.89 <br />acres, more or less, is not necessary to the public use and is not <br />set aside by state or city law for public purposes. <br />
