REGULAR MEETING MAY 7, 1973 1 1 WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works has the authority to make such improvements as provided by the General Assembly, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Public Works orders the Department of Public Works to prepare the plans, specifications, cost estimates, secure the necessary right-of-way, permits, appropriations, and to seek bids for and to construct said section of Bendix Drive. Barcome Member ATTEST: s/ Patricia DeClercq Clerk Dated this 7th day of May, 1973 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SALE OF CITY -OWNED LAND A resolution was presented to the Board. Mr. Richardson explained that the resolution involves a triangle of land, containing 1.89 acres, located near the Penn Central Railroad Tracks, Tasher Street and Jennings Street. Super Auto Salvage leases the land from the City. There is no public access to the land and it is not needed by the City. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the resolution was adopted. RESOLUTION NO. 16-1973 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF A CERTAIN PARCEL OF REAL ESTATE OWNED BY THE C I TY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend,indiana has compiled a current detailed inventory of all real property owned by the City of South Bend, Indiana, pursuant to Section 30-A-1 of the Municipal Code of the City of South Bend; and WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works has reviewed said inventory of real property and it now finds that certain of the parcels of real estate now owned by the City are not necessary to the public use and are not set aside by state or city law for public purposes pursuant to Section 30A-2 of the Municipal Code of the City of South Bend; and WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works now wishes to take the necessary action to make it possible for the Board, in the future, to sell said parcels of real estate pursuant to Chapter 30A of the Municipal Code of the City of South Bend, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana: 1. That a parcel of real estate owned by the City, described as being bounded by the Easterly line of the right-of-way of the Penn Central Railroad, the South line of Tasher-Street extended, the East line of Section 23, Township 37 North, Range 2 East, and the South line of Jennings Street extended, and containing 1.89 acres, more or less, is not necessary to the public use and is not set aside by state or city law for public purposes.
