4 <br />REGULAR MEETING MAY 7, 1973 <br />RESOLUTION - STREET IMPROVEMENTS - SAMPLE STREET FROM`:-CHAPIN TO OLIVE <br />Mr. Richardson explained that this will complete the four-lanii.ng of Sample <br />Street from Chapin to the Olive -Sample overpass. The resolution authorizes <br />preliminary engineering. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the -Board <br />adopted the following resolution: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14-1973 <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works has found it necessary in the best interest <br />of the public safety and welfare to construct certain street improvements on <br />Sample Street from Chapin Street to Olive Street, and <br />WHEREAS, the improvements to the aforesaid Street are compatible with the <br />Urban Area Transportation -Study, and <br />WHEREAS, the costs for these certain improvements are to be pro -rated at 10% <br />to the Cumulative Capital -improvement Fund and 90% to the Local Roads and Streets <br />Account, and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works has the authority to make such improvements <br />as provided by the General Assembly, therefore <br />BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Public Works orders the Department of Public <br />Works to prepare the plans, specifications, cost estimates, secure the necessary <br />right-of-way, permits, appropriations, and to seek bids for and to construct said <br />street improvement on Sample Street. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />s/ William J. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />carried, the Board adopted the following resolution: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 15-1973 <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works has found it necessary in the best interest <br />of the public safety and welfare to construct certain street improve- <br />ments on Bendix Drive from the South Shore spur north to Lathrop Drive <br />and, <br />WHEREAS, the improvements to the aforesaid Street are compatible with the <br />Urban Area Transportation Study, and <br />WHEREAS, the costs for these certain improvements are to be pro -rated at <br />10% to the Cumulativeā¢Capital Improvement Fund and 90% to the <br />Local Roads and Streets Account, and <br />
