REGULAR MEETING CHANGE ORDERS - MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM APRIL 23, 1973 The Board received two Change Orders for the Morris Civic Auditorium renovations. One was from Ideal Consolidated in the amount of $1,569.09. This was necessitated by having to remove some illegal wiring and replace it and to replace the hot water heater. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the change order. The second Change Order was for. the Aulm Construction Company in the amount of $2,618.00 for painting the men's and ladies lounges, the ladies powder room and the first floor janitor's room. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the change order. HEARING ON ASSESSMENT ROLL - VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3376, 1973 This being the date set for holding a hearing on the Assessment Roll of Vacation Resolution No. 3376, 1973, hearing is now held for the vacation of the north -south alley between Meade and Fremont Street, running north from Bertrand Street to the south r/w lind of the east -west alley and the north r/w line of the east -west alley to the south r/w line of Roger Street. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune - and the Tri-County News on March 23 and 30 and April 6, 1973, and they were found to be sufficient. No remonstrators appeared and no written remonstrances having been received, upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Assessment Roll showing no net damages and no net benefits was approved as adopted and said Resolution is in all things ratified and confirmed and said proceedings closed. AREA PLAN RECOMMENDATION - VACATION OF ALLEY - ST. JOSEPH'S HOSPITAL A favorable recommendation was received from the Area Plan Commission in regard to the petition to vacate the alley running south from Madison Street to the first east -west alley between St. Peter Street and Notre Dame Avenue. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board ordered the recommendation filed and referred the petition to the Bureau of Engineering for preparation of the Vacation Resolution. AREA PLAN COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION - VACATION OF ALLEY - MC DONALD'S A favorable recommendation was received from the Area Plan Commission in regard to the petition to vacate the east -west alley running between Lots 138 and 139 in the original plat of South Bend from the East right-of-way line of Michigan Street in an easterly direction to the first north and south cross alley. Mr. Richardson explained to the Board that, in preliminary investigation of this vacation, it was agreed to try to obtain right-of-way for the proposed Madison Street bridge. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the petition was referred to the Department of Public Works for further investigation. APPROVAL OF PLANS - PROJECT R & S 58 - NORTHSIDE BOULEVARD The Board, upon motion, made, seconded and carried, approved plans for Project R & S 58, Northside Boulevard from 130' west of Francis Street to Wayne Street. REQUEST FOR BIDS - R & S 58 - NORTHSIDE BOULEVARD The Board received a request from William J. Richardson, P.E., Director of Public Works, to advertise for bids for Project R & S 58, Northside Boulevard. from 130' West of Francis Street to Wayne Street, on April 27 and May 4 with bids to be received at 9:30 a.m. on May 7, 1.973. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Clerk was directed to advertise for bids, contingent upon favorable Common Council action on this project.
