REGULAR MEETING <br />CHANGE ORDERS - MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM <br />APRIL 23, 1973 <br />The Board received two Change Orders for the Morris Civic Auditorium <br />renovations. One was from Ideal Consolidated in the amount of $1,569.09. <br />This was necessitated by having to remove some illegal wiring and replace <br />it and to replace the hot water heater. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />carried, the Board approved the change order. <br />The second Change Order was for. the Aulm Construction Company in the amount <br />of $2,618.00 for painting the men's and ladies lounges, the ladies powder <br />room and the first floor janitor's room. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />carried, the Board approved the change order. <br />HEARING ON ASSESSMENT ROLL - VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3376, 1973 <br />This being the date set for holding a hearing on the Assessment Roll of <br />Vacation Resolution No. 3376, 1973, hearing is now held for the vacation <br />of the north -south alley between Meade and Fremont Street, running north from <br />Bertrand Street to the south r/w lind of the east -west alley and the north <br />r/w line of the east -west alley to the south r/w line of Roger Street. <br />The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune - <br />and the Tri-County News on March 23 and 30 and April 6, 1973, and they were <br />found to be sufficient. <br />No remonstrators appeared and no written remonstrances having been received, <br />upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Assessment Roll showing no net <br />damages and no net benefits was approved as adopted and said Resolution is in <br />all things ratified and confirmed and said proceedings closed. <br />AREA PLAN RECOMMENDATION - VACATION OF ALLEY - ST. JOSEPH'S HOSPITAL <br />A favorable recommendation was received from the Area Plan Commission in <br />regard to the petition to vacate the alley running south from Madison Street <br />to the first east -west alley between St. Peter Street and Notre Dame Avenue. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board ordered the recommendation <br />filed and referred the petition to the Bureau of Engineering for preparation <br />of the Vacation Resolution. <br />AREA PLAN COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION - VACATION OF ALLEY - MC DONALD'S <br />A favorable recommendation was received from the Area Plan Commission in regard <br />to the petition to vacate the east -west alley running between Lots 138 and 139 <br />in the original plat of South Bend from the East right-of-way line of Michigan <br />Street in an easterly direction to the first north and south cross alley. Mr. <br />Richardson explained to the Board that, in preliminary investigation of this <br />vacation, it was agreed to try to obtain right-of-way for the proposed <br />Madison Street bridge. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the petition <br />was referred to the Department of Public Works for further investigation. <br />APPROVAL OF PLANS - PROJECT R & S 58 - NORTHSIDE BOULEVARD <br />The Board, upon motion, made, seconded and carried, approved plans for Project <br />R & S 58, Northside Boulevard from 130' west of Francis Street to Wayne Street. <br />REQUEST FOR BIDS - R & S 58 - NORTHSIDE BOULEVARD <br />The Board received a request from William J. Richardson, P.E., Director of <br />Public Works, to advertise for bids for Project R & S 58, Northside Boulevard. <br />from 130' West of Francis Street to Wayne Street, on April 27 and May 4 with <br />bids to be received at 9:30 a.m. on May 7, 1.973. Upon motion made, seconded <br />and carried, the Clerk was directed to advertise for bids, contingent upon <br />favorable Common Council action on this project. <br />
