REGULAR MEETING APRIL 1�, 1973 <br />several contacts with the Whiteford Leasing Company since they received this notice <br />and that they have presented a signed contract with Bradberry Brothers, Inc. for <br />the grading andpaving of the lot in accordance with plans submitted to the Bureau <br />of Engineering. They have not indicated when the work will be completed but weather <br />has been a problem. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board requested <br />that the Legal Department write to Mr. Whiteford Informing him that they have set <br />a deadline of May 15, 1973 for completion of the project and if it is not completed <br />by that date, they will seek an injunction. <br />HEARING ON ASSESSMENT ROLL - VACATION RESOLUTION NO.. 3374, 1973 <br />This being the date set for holding a hearing on the Assessment Roll of Vacation <br />Resolution No. 3374, 1973, hearing is now held for the vacation of a fourteen <br />foot alley, sometimes known as Hibbard Court, between Washington Street and <br />Jefferson Boulevard, running west from Michigan Street to the east line of the <br />North -South alley between Michigan and Main Streets, a distance of one hundred and <br />sixty-five feet. <br />The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and <br />the Tri-County News on March 16, 23 and 30, 1973 and they were found to be <br />sufficient. <br />No remonstrators appeared and no written remonstrances having been received, <br />upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Assessment Roll showing no net <br />damages and no net benefits was approved as adopted and said Resolution is in <br />all things°ratified and confirmed and said proceedings closed. <br />HEARING ON ASSESSMENT ROLL - VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3375, 1973 <br />This being the date set for holding a hearing on the Assessment Roll of Vacation <br />Resolution No. 3375, 1973, hearing is now held for the vacation of a fourteen <br />foot alley, sometimes known as Hibbard Court, between Washington Street and <br />Jefferson Boulevard, running east from Michigan Street to the west line of the <br />North -South alley between Michigan and St. Joseph Streets, a distance of one <br />hundred sixty-five feet. <br />The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and <br />the Tri-County News on March 16, 23 and 30, 1973 and they were found to be <br />sufficient. <br />No remonstrators appeared and no written remonstrances having been received, <br />upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Assessment Roll showing no net <br />damages and no net benefits was approved as adopted and said Resolution is in <br />all things ratified and confirmed and said proceedings closed. <br />REQUEST FOR PARADE - HOPE CHAPEL CHURCH OF GOD <br />The Board received a request from the Hope Chapel Church of God to hold a parade <br />on Saturday, June 9th at 1:00 p.m. 'Upon motion made, seconded --and carried, the <br />request was referred to Mr. Clem Hazinski, Manager, Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />for investigation and report to the Board. <br />REQUEST FOR PARADE - MAURICE MATTHYS LITTLE LEAGUE <br />The Board received a request from the Maurice.Matthys Little League for a parade. <br />on May 19, 1973 at 9:00 a.m. beginning at the Little League Park on Meadow Lane. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried,.the Board referred the request to Mr. Clem <br />Hazinski, Manager, Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, for investigation and report <br />to the Board. <br />REQUEST F@R PARADE - ST. JOSEPH COUNTY MEMORIAL DAY SOCIETY <br />The Board received a request from Mr. H. C. Overgaard, Chairman for the St. Joseph <br />County Memorial Day Parade. The request listed downtown streets which would be <br />involved and indicated that the Society carries liability insurance. Mr. Richardson <br />said that this request would need to be studied thoroughly in the light of downtown <br />construction and the closing of Michigan Street. He said that sewer construction <br />must take precedence over everything else. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />carried, the matter was referred to the Director of Public Works for investigation <br />and report back to the Board. <br />
