REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 16, 1973 <br />= <br />REQUEST FOR TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting submitted a request for the approval of <br />parking meters -son: <br />William Street from LaSalle to Western <br />Wayne Street from William to Taylor <br />Jefferson Blvd. from William to Taylor <br />Mr. Richardson explained that permanent installation of parking meters is done <br />by the Common Council through ordinance but the Board has the authority to <br />install parking meters on an experimental basis for 90 days. They are recommending <br />the installation of these meters to provide for a turnover of parking space for <br />motorists going into the Central Business District. With the opening of the <br />Indiana Employment Security Division office on William Street, turnover of parking <br />space will be needed a4so. Upon notion made, seconded and carried, the Board <br />approved these expertmenta:l i,nst-allations. <br />REQUEST FOR RELEASE OF CONTRACTOR'S BOND FOR JOHN PASK, JR. <br />The Board received a request from the W. H. <br />Othe Contractor's Bond filed for John Pask, <br />0 carried, the Board referred this matter to <br />and report. <br />U <br />U CONTINUATION CERTIFICATES APPROVED <br />Bruner Agency for the release of <br />Jr. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />the Bureau of Engineering for investigation <br />The Board received a report from the Bureau of Engineering that the following <br />Contractor's and Excavation Bond Continuation Certificates had been investigated <br />and found to be in order: <br />Excavation Bond Creed's Excavating Company to 4/20/74 <br />Excavation Bond McIntyre and Jones Company to 12/31/73 <br />Contractor's Bond Herschel Willis to 1/l/74 <br />Contractor's Bond Muia Construction Company, Inc. to l/l/74 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the continuation <br />certificates to the dates indicated. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT <br />The Street Light Outage report for the period of 3/29/73°to 4/11/73 were received <br />and ordered filed. <br />CHANGE ORDER # 7 - WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT ADDITIONS <br />The Board received a letter of explanation from Clyde Williams & Associates and <br />copies of Change Order #7 for Wastewater Treatment Plant Additions, increasing <br />the contract by $134,049.36. Mr. Thomas Hurdle, from Clyde Williams it Associates, <br />was present and made available to the Board drawings of the proposed changes. <br />Mr. Richardson explained to the Board that a series of meetings have been held <br />and that they feel the change order is justified. The money is available in <br />the Contingency Fund. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Change Order <br />was approved. <br />AWARDING OF BID - NORTH IRONWOOD SIDEWALK CONSTRUCTION <br />Mr. Richardson explained to the Board that they have investigated, with some <br />of the residents of North Ironwood, the possibility of finding additional con- <br />tractors who might be interested in' -bidding on this project. However, some of <br />those mentioned, Geans Construction, Batiste Brothers, and Davison, have since <br />indicated they would not be interested or that the estimate of their bid would <br />be very close to the bids received. Upon motion made, secondedand carried, <br />the Board accepted the recommendation -of Clyde Williams & Associates and awarded <br />the bid to McIntyre and Jones on their low bid of $18,947.50. <br />
