3/19/73 <br />Locations have not been worked out at present but will be firmed out <br />with this Bureau and locations that they request will be reviewed and <br />assigned. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board accepted Mr. Hazi-nski's <br />recommendation and approved the request with the changes outlined above. <br />MEMO FROM BUREAU OF TRAFFIC AND LIGHTING RE: MARCH OF DIMES WALKATHON <br />To: Board of Public Works <br />From: Bureau of Traffic & Lighting - Clem Hazinski, Manager <br />Subject: March of Dimes Request for Walkathon <br />A request by the National Foundation for March of Dimes was submitted <br />to this Bureau for investigation and report. <br />Past experience has shown that the marchers have been instructed to use <br />sidewalks and abide by pedestrian ordinances and as a result no traffic <br />inconvenience was noted. <br />It is recommended that permission be granted to hold the proposed <br />Walkathon on April 28, 1973 using the routes in South Bend as shown <br />on the drawing submitted. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the recommendation <br />for the Walkathon. <br />REQUEST FOR BIDS - BUREAU OF STREETS <br />The Board received a request from Mr. William Richardson, Director, Department <br />of Public Works, to advertise for bids for materials for the Bureau of Streets. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the request and <br />directed the Clerk to advertise for bids on March 23 and 30 with bids to be <br />received at 9:30 a.m. on April 2, 1973. <br />LETTER FROM FORREST WEST RE: J.M.S. ANNEX BUILDING <br />To: Board of Public Works <br />From: Bureau of Buildings and Permits <br />Subject: J.M.S. Annex Building <br />This is in answer to your memo of March 12, 1973. <br />Please be advised that this Bureau has no objection to the Board's <br />action of permitting a 618" projection of the upper floor and recommends <br />that this Bureau be authorized to issue the building permit for this <br />project. <br />Attached is a letter, this date, from the Department of Redevelopment <br />indicating compliance with their plans. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />s/ Forrest R.
