3/19/73 1751 and set 9:30 a.m. on April 23, 1973 in the Board Hearing Room, 1308 County - City Building 1is-the time and place of hearing all persons interested in or affected by such vacation. ADOPTION OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS - NORTH IRONWOOD SIDEWALK CONSTRUCTION Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the plans and specifications for the construction of a public sidewalk on North Ironwood Drive, approximately 200' south of Bader Avenue to Corby Street. The Board also set April 2nd, 1973 at 9:30 a.m. as the time for bids to be accepted for the construction and theClerk was directed to advertise for bids on March 23rd and 30th, 1973. REQUEST FOR TEMPORARY PERMIT FOR MOBILE HOME ON PROPERTY The Board received a request from Mrs. Bernard Bartell, 1945 Inwood Road, for permission to put a mobile home at that address while their home which was damaged by fire is rebuilt. .Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the matter was referred to Mr. Forrest West, Director, Bureau of Buildings and Permits, for investigation and report to the Board. s-1 MEMO FROM BUREAU OF TRAFFIC AND LIGHTING RE: CLOSING OF 27TH STREET FOR ONE DAY ll`r Q The Board received the following memo: U V To: Board of Public Works From: Bureau of Traffic & Lighting - Clem Hazinski, Manager Subject: Closing 27th Street on May 19, 1973 A request by Mr. Charles F. Lennon, president of the East Side Little League to close 27th Street between Colfax and McKinley from 9 A.M. to 9 P.M. on May 19, 1973 was referred to this Bureau. Such closing would have inconvenienced motorists who use this street for access to and from the Walnut Grove project and Jefferson Blvd. A pedestrian crossing can be controlled at.a.prescribed location and this Bureau would recommend denial of the request to clost 27th Street. However, Mr. Lennon came to the Bureau on March 12, 1973 and stated that he would withdraw the request. Mr. Hazinski's report was ordered filed. MEMO FROM BUREAU OF TRAFFIC AND LIGHTING RE: EASTER SEAL FUND-RAISING CAMPAIGN The Board received the following letter: To: Board of Works. From: Bureau of Traffic & Lighting - Clem Hazinski, Manager Subject: Seal Fund-raising Campaign A request from Lt. David A. Butterfield, 1st Battalion 150th Field Artillery, 1901 S. Kemble, to participate in an Easter Seal Fund- raising program by soliciting funds from motorists at traffic signals on March 24, 1973 has been referred to this Bureau. A meeting with 1st Sgt. Fred J. Beam was held reference this request and the following recommendations are made to the Board as a result: 1. That solicitation be prohibited in the Central Business District since any additional impediments to orderly traffic flow cannot be tolerated— . 2. That they be allowed to solicit funds at intersections outside the CBD on arterials abiding by traffic regulations at signals and that vehicles be parked in unrestricted zones. U
