3/19/73 <br />1751 <br />and set 9:30 a.m. on April 23, 1973 in the Board Hearing Room, 1308 County - <br />City Building 1is-the time and place of hearing all persons interested in or <br />affected by such vacation. <br />ADOPTION OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS - NORTH IRONWOOD SIDEWALK CONSTRUCTION <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the plans and <br />specifications for the construction of a public sidewalk on North Ironwood <br />Drive, approximately 200' south of Bader Avenue to Corby Street. The Board <br />also set April 2nd, 1973 at 9:30 a.m. as the time for bids to be accepted for <br />the construction and theClerk was directed to advertise for bids on March <br />23rd and 30th, 1973. <br />REQUEST FOR TEMPORARY PERMIT FOR MOBILE HOME ON PROPERTY <br />The Board received a request from Mrs. Bernard Bartell, 1945 Inwood Road, <br />for permission to put a mobile home at that address while their home which <br />was damaged by fire is rebuilt. .Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the <br />matter was referred to Mr. Forrest West, Director, Bureau of Buildings and <br />Permits, for investigation and report to the Board. <br />s-1 <br />MEMO FROM BUREAU OF TRAFFIC AND LIGHTING RE: CLOSING OF 27TH STREET FOR ONE DAY <br />ll`r <br />Q The Board received the following memo: <br />U <br />V <br />To: Board of Public Works <br />From: Bureau of Traffic & Lighting - Clem Hazinski, Manager <br />Subject: Closing 27th Street on May 19, 1973 <br />A request by Mr. Charles F. Lennon, president of the East Side Little <br />League to close 27th Street between Colfax and McKinley from 9 A.M. to <br />9 P.M. on May 19, 1973 was referred to this Bureau. <br />Such closing would have inconvenienced motorists who use this street <br />for access to and from the Walnut Grove project and Jefferson Blvd. <br />A pedestrian crossing can be controlled at.a.prescribed location and <br />this Bureau would recommend denial of the request to clost 27th Street. <br />However, Mr. Lennon came to the Bureau on March 12, 1973 and stated <br />that he would withdraw the request. <br />Mr. Hazinski's report was ordered filed. <br />MEMO FROM BUREAU OF TRAFFIC AND LIGHTING RE: EASTER SEAL FUND-RAISING CAMPAIGN <br />The Board received the following letter: <br />To: Board of Works. <br />From: Bureau of Traffic & Lighting - Clem Hazinski, Manager <br />Subject: Seal Fund-raising Campaign <br />A request from Lt. David A. Butterfield, 1st Battalion 150th Field <br />Artillery, 1901 S. Kemble, to participate in an Easter Seal Fund- <br />raising program by soliciting funds from motorists at traffic signals <br />on March 24, 1973 has been referred to this Bureau. <br />A meeting with 1st Sgt. Fred J. Beam was held reference this request <br />and the following recommendations are made to the Board as a result: <br />1. That solicitation be prohibited in the Central Business <br />District since any additional impediments to orderly <br />traffic flow cannot be tolerated— . <br />2. That they be allowed to solicit funds at intersections <br />outside the CBD on arterials abiding by traffic regulations <br />at signals and that vehicles be parked in unrestricted zones. <br />U <br />
