I 16 <br />3/5/73 <br />Warrants exist for traffic signalization in the redevelopment <br />area (R-66) at the following new intersections: <br />1. Western Ave. & St. Joseph Street <br />2. Wayne Street & St. Joseph Street <br />3. Jefferson Street & St. Joseph Street <br />4. Washington Street & St. Joseph Street <br />5. Colfax Avenue & St. Joseph Street <br />6. Monroe and Columbia <br />7. Western and Columbia Street <br />It is recommended that the Board of Works approve such installation <br />and that such approval be entered in the minutes of the Board. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the recommendation <br />of Mr. Hazinski and approved the installations. <br />MEMO FROM BUREAU OF TRAFFIC AND LIGHTING RE:., ONE WAY PAIR - MAIN AND MICHIGAN <br />The following memo was received from Mr. Clem Hazinski, Director, Bureau of <br />Traffic and Lighting: <br />TO: BOARD OF WORKS <br />FROM: BUREAU OF TRAFFIC & LIGHTING - CFH <br />SUBJECT: ONE WAY PAIR OF MAIN AND MICHIGAN <br />Plans are presently being made to upgrade the signalization on <br />Main Street between South Street and Chippewa and on Michigan <br />between Chippewa and Monroe Street. Upon completion of the <br />final plans it is recommended that the Board of Works designate <br />Main Street as one way south, and Michigan be designated as one <br />way north at the boundaries described above. <br />It is further recommended that such approval be entered in the <br />minutes of the Board of Works and that a public hearing on this <br />project be held before the Board of Works at a date determined <br />by that body. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the recommendation <br />and directed the Clerk to advertise for a public hearing on this matter to be <br />held on Monday, March 19, 1973 at 9:30 a.m. in the Board Hearing Room at the <br />regular meeting of the Board of Public Works. <br />UREAU OF TRAFF <br />HIGHWAY COMMISSION RE: <br />IGHTING RE: RESOLUTION TO INDIANA <br />IR OF MAIN STREET & MICHIGAN STREE <br />The following memo was received from Mr. Clem Hazinski, Director, Bureau of <br />Traffic and Lighting: <br />TO: BOARD OF WORKS <br />FROM: BUREAU OF TRAFFIC & LIGHTING <br />SUBJECT: RESOLUTION TO INDIANA STATE HIGHWAY COMMISSION REFERENCE ONE WAY <br />PAIR OF MAIN STREET & MICHIGAN STREET <br />In accordance with regulations of the Indiana State Highway Commission <br />a resolution should be sent to the District Engineer, LaPorte District, <br />Indiana State Highway Commission recommending approval by the district <br />of the following: <br />1. That Main Street be designated as "One Way" south from South <br />Street to Chippewa and also be designated as U.S. 31 <br />2. That Michigan Street which is U.S.31 be designated as "One Way" <br />north from Chippewa to Monroe Street where it continues north on <br />St. Joseph Street. <br />
