Box 2125 $500.00 check accompanied the bid <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board referred the above bids to <br />the Legal Department for investigation and report to the Board. <br />REQUEST FROM MARCH OF DIMES TO HOLD WALKATHON <br />Mrs. Thomas Lentych appeared before the Board to ask permission for the <br />March of Dimes to hold their annual Walkathon on April 28, 1973. Mrs. Lentych <br />presented a map of the proposed walk route to the Board and estimated that <br />from 4000 to 5000 persons would participate. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />carried, the Board referred the request to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />and the Police Department Traffic Detail for investigation and report to the <br />Board. <br />REQUEST FOR TIME LIMIT ON WALKATHONS <br />Mr. Donald Germann, Director of Civil Defense, was present at the meeting and <br />requested that the Board set a cut-off time of 4:00 p.m. for all Walkathons <br />to make arrangements simpler for the Police Department and the Civil Defense <br />Department. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved <br />Mr. Germann's request. <br />REPORT ON LION'S INTERNATIONAL REQUEST FOR PARADE <br />Mr. Clem Hazinski, Director of the Bureau;of Traffic & Lighting, reported to <br />the Board that he had investigated the request of Lion's International to <br />hold a parade on April 28, 1973. Mr. Hazinski recommended approval of the <br />request. The Lions Club has complied with indemnity regulations and have <br />the concurrence of the Police Traffic Division. Upon motion made, seconded <br />and carried, the Board approved the request. . <br />
