0 <br />12/4/72 <br />This is a violation of the Municipal Code and notice should be <br />served on the people who are responsible for this littering that <br />they will be fined for continued violations. <br />I would appreciate Board action on this problem immediately. <br />Sincerely, <br />s/ Odell Newburn <br />Councilman at large <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Clerk was instructed <br />to write to all demolition contractors informing them of the vio- <br />lation and asking them to desist. <br />ACTION REQUEST FOR HELP IN INSTALLING FIRE ESCAPE <br />A letter was received from ACTION, -INC. REQuesting help in <br />the installation of a fire escape on the Northeast Neighborhood <br />Center, 803 North Notre Dame Avenue, formerly the #6 Fire Station. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried the request was sent to <br />Mr. Przyzylinski of the Municipal Services Building to see if <br />he can furnish the labor. <br />LETTERS FROM COUNCILMAN WALTER KOPCZYNSKI <br />The following letters were received from Councilman Kopczynski: <br />November 27, 1972 <br />Board of Public Works <br />County City Building <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Re: Discards at Charitable Containers <br />Gentlemen: <br />It has been brought to my attention that many large articles that <br />are in the useless trash category and not salvagable objects, and <br />dont fit in containers provided by charitable institutions have been <br />littering private properties, and many times this same trash finds <br />its way into the street, alleys and other public places. <br />I want to request the Board of Works to take necessary action to <br />stop this type of littering. <br />I also request the Legal Department to draw up an ordinance regul- <br />ating charitable salvage collection in the City of South Bend. <br />Sincerely yours, <br />s/ Walter T, Kopczynski <br />November 24, 1972 <br />Board of Works <br />% Freda Noble <br />13th Floor <br />County City Building <br />Subject: O'Neal Trucking Zoning Violation <br />Enclosed letter and information on cards shows that a zoning <br />violation was reported as early as 5-22-72.
