11/20/72, <br />M <br />1 <br />Re: Demolition Requests Under Statute #4861-46 <br />Gentlemen: <br />It is the request of this Department to convey the facts and <br />conditions concerning the properties so stated below. We wish to seek <br />permission from the Board to show cause why ,demolition should not take <br />place. <br />ADDRESS <br />613 Clinton Street <br />620 Clinton Street <br />1608-1612 Prairie Avenue <br />1117 E. Bissell Street <br />136 E. Keasey Street <br />607. E. Pennsylvania Ave. <br />502-504 E. Wenger Street <br />127 E. Ohio Street <br />OWNER <br />Bernard R. Beghtel, et al <br />Kenneth Slack <br />Sam Bernstein <br />Florence Fisette, Executrix of <br />the Estate of Anna B. Damp <br />St. Joseph County <br />John C. Jean Guisinger <br />Edward Christine DeBlase, et al <br />Richard L. and Anna Short <br />We ask that we be allowed to bring these before the Board of <br />Public Works and Safety on Monday, December 4th, 1972. <br />Yours truly, <br />s/ Isaiah Steed <br />Director, <br />Sub -Standard Buildings <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried the Board approved Mr. Steed's <br />request to instruct the above property owners to show cause why dem- <br />olition should not take place, on December 4, 1972. <br />202 Pennsylvania Myron Duncan appeared before the Board and stated <br />he has not yet reached a settlement with his insurance company. This <br />matter was continued for two weeks- <br />2108 Linden Clementine Klota,_ 519 S. Carlisle Street, did not appear <br />before the. Board as she was instructed to appear on this date. The <br />matter was continued one week, and Mr. Steed was instructed to write <br />to her informing her that if she did not appear in one week bids <br />would be opened for the demolition of her property. <br />BRYANT EXCAVATING AND DEMOLITION CO. CONTRACTS VOIDED <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board voided the contracts <br />awarded to Bryant Excavating & Demolition Company for the demolition of <br />the following properties: <br />713 S. Clinton Street <br />1318 S. Rush Street <br />522 Leland Avenue <br />1135 E. Madison <br />2505 Linden <br />1621 Sibley Street <br />239 E. Broadway <br />124 E. Elder Street <br />1018 Fuerbringer St. <br />2405 Kenwood Street <br />1904 S. Carlisle <br />1232 W. Jefferson Blvd. <br />These contracts will be awarded to the second lowest bidder on the <br />demolition. <br />1904 S. Carlisle Mr. Andrew Molnar, 1902 S. Carlisle, appeared before <br />the Board and stated that he has been watching over 1904 S. Carlisle <br />Street. On October 5, 1972, the demolition bid was awarded to Bryant <br />Excavating and Demolition Co. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Molnar observed <br />three rooms of furniture taken out of the home. .Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried this complaint was referred to the Legal Department <br />for investigation. <br />
