11/20/72, M 1 Re: Demolition Requests Under Statute #4861-46 Gentlemen: It is the request of this Department to convey the facts and conditions concerning the properties so stated below. We wish to seek permission from the Board to show cause why ,demolition should not take place. ADDRESS 613 Clinton Street 620 Clinton Street 1608-1612 Prairie Avenue 1117 E. Bissell Street 136 E. Keasey Street 607. E. Pennsylvania Ave. 502-504 E. Wenger Street 127 E. Ohio Street OWNER Bernard R. Beghtel, et al Kenneth Slack Sam Bernstein Florence Fisette, Executrix of the Estate of Anna B. Damp St. Joseph County John C. Jean Guisinger Edward Christine DeBlase, et al Richard L. and Anna Short We ask that we be allowed to bring these before the Board of Public Works and Safety on Monday, December 4th, 1972. Yours truly, s/ Isaiah Steed Director, Sub -Standard Buildings Upon motion made, seconded and carried the Board approved Mr. Steed's request to instruct the above property owners to show cause why dem- olition should not take place, on December 4, 1972. 202 Pennsylvania Myron Duncan appeared before the Board and stated he has not yet reached a settlement with his insurance company. This matter was continued for two weeks- 2108 Linden Clementine Klota,_ 519 S. Carlisle Street, did not appear before the. Board as she was instructed to appear on this date. The matter was continued one week, and Mr. Steed was instructed to write to her informing her that if she did not appear in one week bids would be opened for the demolition of her property. BRYANT EXCAVATING AND DEMOLITION CO. CONTRACTS VOIDED Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board voided the contracts awarded to Bryant Excavating & Demolition Company for the demolition of the following properties: 713 S. Clinton Street 1318 S. Rush Street 522 Leland Avenue 1135 E. Madison 2505 Linden 1621 Sibley Street 239 E. Broadway 124 E. Elder Street 1018 Fuerbringer St. 2405 Kenwood Street 1904 S. Carlisle 1232 W. Jefferson Blvd. These contracts will be awarded to the second lowest bidder on the demolition. 1904 S. Carlisle Mr. Andrew Molnar, 1902 S. Carlisle, appeared before the Board and stated that he has been watching over 1904 S. Carlisle Street. On October 5, 1972, the demolition bid was awarded to Bryant Excavating and Demolition Co. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Molnar observed three rooms of furniture taken out of the home. .Upon motion made, seconded and carried this complaint was referred to the Legal Department for investigation.
