162 <br />11/6/72 <br />625 Walnut Street This being the date set for receiving bids for the <br />demolition of the structure at 625 Walnut Street, the following bids <br />were opened and publicly read: <br />Michiana Builders $685.00 <br />O'Neal Trucking Co. 625:00 <br />B & J Demolition , 600.00 <br />Mr. Marvin Groves, 1223 West Thomas Street, South Bend appeared before <br />the Board and said he was working on the rehabilitation of the structure. <br />Mr. Steed was directed to inspect the dwelling and report back on it <br />at the next meeting. The bids were ordered held up. <br />2422 Linden Avenue This being the date set for receiving bids for the <br />demolition of the structure at 2422 Linden Avenue the following bids <br />were opened and publicly read: <br />Michiana Builders $685.00 <br />O'Neal Trucking 625.00 <br />B & J Demolition 500.00 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the award was made to B & J <br />Demolition on its low bid of $500.00. <br />114 North Shore Drive A letter was received from Builder's United <br />Enterprises, Inc., 1530 Kemble Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, wherein <br />they stated they are interested in purchasing the house on a 235-1 <br />program. They would bring the house up to standard and then sell <br />it. They requested a ninety (90) continuance to make all arrange- <br />ments with HUD. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board <br />granted a thirty (30) day continuance, and asked that a written <br />committment from HUD to show their intent in the matter. <br />NOTICE TO DEMOLITION CONTRACTORS <br />The following notice to demolition contractors was presented to the <br />Board: <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC. WORKS <br />BUREAU OF BUILDINGS AND PERMITS <br />SUB -STANDARD BUILDING SECTION <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />PART I <br />NOTICE TO DEMOLITION CONTRACTORS <br />To Whom IT MAY CONCERN: <br />Notice is hereby given by the Building Commissioner, as agent for <br />Who has interestin the following described real estate: <br />The dwelling has not been demolished <br />in accordance with the orders issued by the Building Commissioner. <br />Therefore, the Building Commissioner, as agent for the owners or <br />persons described having an interest in said property, does hereby <br />advertise and solicit bids for the following work and conditions: <br />A. General Conditions <br />1. Demolition of the above described building in its entirely <br />and including the removal of the following: accessory <br />buildings and sheds, sidewalks, driveways, slabs, fences <br />retaining walls, basements, dead trees, bushes and all <br />other such items that might be a part of the property that <br />should be removed. <br />
