16 <br />9/18/72 <br />AMENDED PETITION TO VACATE CERTAIN ALLEYS AND A PORTION OF ROSE STREET <br />An amended petition to vacate certain alleys and a portion of Rose <br />Street was presented to the Board, and upon motion made, seconded and <br />was referred to the Bureau of Engineering for study and recommendation. <br />A.C.T.I.O.N. IN -KIND VOUCHERS FOR FIRE STATIONS #10, 7 and 8 <br />In -kind vouchers for contributions covering estimated rental valua- <br />tion for Fire Stations, #10, #7 and #8 were filed for the month of <br />September, 1972. <br />COMPLAINT ON WEEDS <br />A letter was received from the St. Joseph County Health Department <br />wherein they reported complaints of weeds had been reported to them <br />and they in turn had notified property owners, but no action had <br />been taken. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, this was re- <br />ferred to the Legal Department for appropriate action. <br />COMPLAINTS ON WEEDS ON CITY OWNED PROPERTY <br />N:otices were received from the St. Joseph County Health Department <br />that complaints had been received about t4eeds on city owned property. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried these were referred to the <br />Street Department for action. <br />REQUEST TO USE SPACE METERED BY THREE PARKING METERS <br />A letter was received from the J. C. Penney Company, Inc., requesting <br />the use of space in front of their store metered by three parking <br />meters on October 4, 1972 for the use of Miss U.S.A., who will be <br />there that day. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, this was <br />referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for investigation and <br />report. <br />LETTER RE: JOHN ADAMS HIGH SCHOOL FOORBALLI.PARADE <br />A letter was received from the River Park Business Men's Assocation <br />requesting permission to sponsor a parade on -Friday, September 29, <br />1972 frorp 3:45 to 5:00 p.m. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, <br />this was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for investi- <br />gation and report. <br />NOTICE FROM COOPERATIVE EXTENSION SERVICE <br />A notice was received from the Cooperative Extension Service relative <br />to an open house on September 27, 1972. This was ordered filed. <br />REQUEST FOR STREET LIGHT - WALTER KOPCZYNSKI <br />A letter was received from Councilman Walter K. Topczynski requesting <br />the installation of a street light on Ford Street between Phillipa <br />and Carlisle Streets. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, this <br />was referred to -the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for recommendation. <br />REQUEST FOR STREET LIGHT HOWARD STREET <br />A request was received, containing ten signatures, asking for the in- <br />stallation of a street light on Howard Street between Jacob and Talbot <br />Streets. Upon motion made, seconded and carried this was referred to <br />the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for recommendation. <br />
