9/18/72 <br />not having appeared before the Board as requested, upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, Mr. Steed is now authorized to seek bids for the <br />demolition of the structure at 1232 West Jefferson Boulevard. <br />539 Euclid Avenue Marvin and Linda Grove and Mrs. Rose Morris not <br />having appeared as requested, and Mr. Steed not having a receipt for <br />the letter notifying them their appearance was requested, Mr. Steed <br />is now directed to write another letter to them to show cause why <br />the structure at 539 Euclid Avenue should not be demolished. <br />140 North Shore Drive Mr. Sweeney had received a letter from Mr. Phillip Potts <br />Attorney for the owner of the structure at 140 North Shore Drive, <br />informing him that the building was to be sold. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the matter was continued for one week, there <br />should be evidence of a deed showing transfer of property, or a signed <br />contract for the demolition, at that time. <br />535 South Taylor Mrs. Esther Littow, owner of the structure at 535 <br />South Taylor, appeared before the Board and said she is in the pro- <br />cess of getting contractors to rehabilitate the structure. Upon <br />motion made, seconded and carried, the matter was continued for two <br />weeks, at which time Mrs. Littow is to bring in signed contracts for <br />L� <br />all the repairs to the building. <br />630-630'- N. Hill Street Mrs. Payton appeared before the Board to <br />state she is buying the property on a land contract, and said the <br />owner had agreed to deed the property to her and her husband if <br />they wanted to fix it up. M:r. Sweeney informed her that they had <br />had a report there was a tremendous -amount of rubbish behind the <br />property, but she said that had been removed. The Board advised <br />Mrs. Payton to get in touch with Glen Barbe of the Redevelopment Com- <br />mission to see how much it would cost to bring the house up to <br />standard and in a habitable conditiin. The matter was continued for <br />one week, and she was also advised to bring Mr. Barbe to the meeting <br />with her at that time. <br />1627 West Linden Upon motion made, seconded and carried, this <br />matter was referred to the Legal Department because the owners <br />had been informed by Mr. Steed to remove a shed attached to the <br />building which is in violation of the Building Code and they <br />had ignored the letter. <br />709 Ohio Street This being the date set for receiving bids for the <br />demolition of the structure at 709 Ohio Street, the following bids <br />were opened and read, after determinthg that the non-collution <br />affidavits were in proper order: <br />Bryant Excavating Company $600.00 <br />Midwest Demolition 634.00 <br />B & J Construction 435.00 <br />O'Neal Trucking, 500.00 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried the award was made to the <br />B & J Construction Company on its low bid of $435.00. <br />INVOICE APPROVED - SOLLITT_CONSTRUCTION COMPANY - WASTEWATER TREATMENT <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried an invoice from the Sollitt <br />Construction Company,FrPayment Request No. 12, in the amount of <br />$335,045.06 for work on the Wastwater Treatment Plant was approved. <br />PAYMENT TO SLUTSKY-P ELTZ PLUMBING & HEATING COMPANY, INC. APPROVED <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the payment of $42,874.00 to <br />Slutsky-Peitz Plumbing & Heating Company, Inc., for work done on the <br />Morris Civic Auditorium, Payment Request #2, was approved. <br />
