114 <br />9/18/72 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the recommendation of the <br />Chief was accepted and the request to send Division Chief Urvan to <br />the Seminar was approved. <br />SPECIAL POLICE BOND - ROBERT REID <br />A special Police Bond was presented for Robert Reid and, upon motion <br />made, seconded and carried, was referred to the Legal Department to <br />see for what purpose the commission should be renewed. <br />STATISTICAL REPORT FILED <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Police Department Stat- <br />istical Report for the month of August was ordered filed. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT <br />A memo was received from Forrest R. West, Building Commissioner, <br />requesting permission for Charles F. Crabill, Chief Electri;cal In- <br />spector, to attend the 68th Annual Meeting, Western Section, In- <br />ternational Association of Electrical Inspectors at Indianapolis, <br />Indiana September 24-27, 1972. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />carried, permission was granted. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB STANDARD DIVISION <br />Mr. Isaiah Steed, Sub -Standard Director was present and matters pert- <br />aining to his department were discussed. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board granted the request <br />of Mr. Steed to ask the following permission:that the persons below <br />be requested to appear before the Board to show cause why their sub- <br />standard buildings should not be demolished: <br />1012 S. Fellows Street <br />1109 S. Fellows Street <br />110-112 S. Taylor Street <br />1216 Whiteman Court <br />1528 S. Kendall Street <br />514 S. Walnut Street <br />702 S. Marietta Street <br />1122 Bissell Street <br />428 N. Main Street. <br />2221 W. Smith Street <br />Cora Martindale <br />Howard H. & Gladys Sherrill <br />Cora Williams <br />George P. Roberts & Jack Myers <br />Elizabeth Weber <br />Frank B..Wells <br />Joseph R. Vargo, Esther Pasman <br />Irene Vargo Roberts <br />Robert H. & Sophia Walters <br />Donald & Virginia Benjamin <br />Samuel R. Dunnock, Trustee <br />James B. & Gartha Lee Elliott <br />1904 South Carlisle Street Dr. H. Matheu, Superintendent of Logans- <br />port State Hospital, appeared before the Board to represent Mrs. Orso <br />Ersek who is a pat_i<ent in the hospital. He examined the report of <br />the building and looked at pictures of the structure at 1904 South <br />Carlisle, and agreed with the Board that the structure should be <br />demolished. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, Mr. Steed was <br />authorized to seek bids for the demolition of the structure. <br />1.729 North Kaley Street Mr. Sweeney informed the Board that he had <br />had a call from Mr. James Nafe, Attorney for the owner, who informed <br />him the building was being sold. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />carried, Mr. Steed was authorized to seek bids for the demolition <br />of the structure. <br />No receipt having been received to indicate that notification letters <br />has been received,.Mr. Steed was directed to write another letter or <br />wait until receipt is received. No action can be taken until there <br />is evidence that notice of hearing is received.
