September 18, 1972 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety convened <br />at 9:30 A.M., on Monday, September 18, 1972. Present were Mr. Charles <br />A. Sweeney, Jr., City Attorney and Mr. William Richardson, City <br />Engineer. Mr. James Barcome, City Controller was absent because he <br />irs a member of the Tax Advisory Board and is attending the hearings. <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT There were no matters pertaining to the Fire Department <br />to be discussed. <br />'POU CEry-DEPARTMENT Chief Seals was present and matters pertaining to <br />his department were discussed. <br />The Chief presented the following letter: <br />OFFICERS TO POLICE PISTOL MATCH <br />September 18, 1972 <br />eel Board of Public Worlds and Safety <br />County City Building <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />We respectfully request permission to allow the following four <br />officers to attend the State Fraternal Order of Police 8th Annual <br />Combat Pistol Match to be held at Shelbyville, Indiana, on September <br />23 and 24, 1972: <br />Sergeant E. Wawrzyniak <br />Sergeant F. Szuba <br />Corporal J. Linville <br />Officer J. Szalay <br />Sergeants Szuba and Wawrzyniak will need to be exused from duty. <br />Officer Szalay and Corporal Linville will be attending on their <br />off-dity days. Board Meeting <br />in Columbus, Indiana, on September 22,23,24, 1972.
