342 <br />REGULAR 14EETING <br />APRIL 21, 1975 <br />REQUEST AND RECOMMENDATION FOR TENT SALE, RADIO FURNITURE MART <br />The Board received a report from Forrest R. West that he had received <br />and reviewed a request from the Radio and Furniture Mart to hold a <br />Tent Sale beginning on May 3 and extending until June 1, 1975. <br />Mr. West recommended that the request be approved, provided that <br />the installation comply with the Building Code and with all provisions <br />of the Fire Prevention Bureau.. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />carried, the Board approved the tent sale request, subject to the <br />stipulations in Mr. West's recommendation. <br />REQUESTS FOR STREET LIGHTS <br />The Board received requests from Mr. I. Minkow for installation of <br />street lights in the 900 Block of South Marietta Street and the <br />500 Block of East Broadway. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, <br />the requests were referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting. <br />REQUESTS TO SELL POPPIES APPROVED <br />The Board received requests from the River Park Unit 303 of the <br />American Legion Auxiliary and from American Legion Auxiliary, Unit <br />284 to.sell poppies on the City sidewalks on May 16 and 17, 1975. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the requests were approved. <br />REQUEST FOR SIDEWALK REPAIR <br />The Board received a letter from Councilman Roger Parent attaching <br />a complaint he received about the condition of sidewalks on <br />Leeper Avenue. Mr. Farrand noted that the repair of curbs. and <br />sidewalks is the responsibility of the property owner. Upon <br />motion made, seconded and carried, the matter was referred to the <br />Bureau of Design and Administration for investigation. <br />MATTHYS LITTLE LEAGUE PARADE APPROVED <br />The Board received a request from the Maurice Matthys Little League <br />to hold a parade on Saturday, May 17, 1975. A parade route was <br />enclosed. Upon motion.,made, seconded and carried, the request was <br />approved, subject to the filing of indemnity insurance and the <br />coordination of the event by the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and <br />the Police Department Traffic Detail. <br />RECOMMENDATION ON PETITION TO VACATE ALLEY <br />The Department of Public Works reported to the Board that they had <br />reviewed the petition of the St. Joseph's Cemetery Association to <br />vacate the north -south alley between Walnut and Maple Streets and <br />have no objection to the vacation, subject to the existing utility <br />easements. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board <br />filed the recommendation and referred the petition to the Area Plan <br />Commission for their review and recommendation. <br />REPORT ON PARKING PROBLEM AT 2955 McKinley <br />A complaint regarding parking violations at 2955 McKinley Avenue <br />was received by Forrest West. The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting. <br />reviewed the complaint and submitted the following report to <br />the Board: <br />TO: BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />FROM: BUREAU OF TRAFFIC AND LIGHTING, CLEM HAZINSKI, MANAGER <br />Action was taken reference this violation (and nuisance) in <br />1974 by Forest West with the Legal Department.
