REGULAR MEETING APRIL 7, 1975 <br />REQUEST TO LEASE FIRE STATION ;4 <br />A request was received from the Midwest Council of LaRaza to <br />consider leasing to them Fire Station #4 for the purpose of <br />providing social service assistance to the Spanish speaking <br />community of South Bend. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, <br />the request was referred to Mr. Farrand and he was asked to <br />contact David Martinez of the Midwest Council of LaRaza to determine <br />the use they plan for the building and any other pertinent information. <br />KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS PARADE REQUEST APPROVED <br />A report was received from the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />regarding a review of the request of the Knights of Columbus <br />to hold a parade on Saturday, April 19, 1975 from St. Patrick's Church <br />to the Indiana Club at 5:15 p.m. Mr. Wadzinski reported that he <br />had discussed this matter with the Traffic Detail of the Police <br />Department and the parade will present no problems. Approval is <br />recommended. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the parade <br />was approved. A Certificate of Insurance is on file. <br />REPORT- AERIAL ADS <br />Mr. Farrand filed with the Board his approval of the request of <br />Ellis Aerial Ads to fly an advertising banner on March 17, 1975 <br />welcoming President Ford. Mr. Farrand said he wanted the*Board to <br />be advised that he is receiving a request in advance of each aerial <br />ad. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the report was ordered <br />filed. <br />APPLICATION APPROVED - RIVER BEND PLAZA <br />The Board received an application from the Stockert Flying Service <br />for the display of airplanes on River Bend Plaza, between Jefferson <br />and Colfax, on May 10 and 11. The application has a favorable <br />recommendation from Louis Wilcox, River Bend Plaza Director. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the application was approved. <br />CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE FILED <br />A Certificate of Insurance from the Sollitt Construction Company <br />effective until April 2, 1976 was received. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the certificate was ordered filed. <br />BONDS APPROVED <br />Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering, recommended to the Board <br />that the following bonds were properly executed and could be approved: <br />Scott's Construction Company to 4/4/76 <br />Sells-Corthier Building Contractors to 7/24/75 <br />D & L Construction Company to 9/5/76 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the bonds were approved to <br />the dates listed. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT FILED <br />The Street Light Outage Report for the period of March 28 through <br />April 3 was received. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the <br />report was ordered filed. <br />REQUEST TO CLOSE A PORTION OF MAIN STREET APPROVED <br />The Sollitt ConstructionComp any had requested that Main Street <br />be closed from Navarre to the alley north of Navarre for a period <br />of one year while demolition of a present building and construction <br />of a new building are accomplished. The Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting presented the following recommendation on the request: <br />
