REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 7, 1975 <br />FILING OF ASSESSMENT ROLL - VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3414, 1975 <br />Rollin E. Farrand, P. E., City Engineer, files with the Board an <br />Assessment Roll for Vacation Resolution No. 3414, 1975 for the <br />vacation of the first east -west alley south of Ruskin Street between <br />Esther Street and Greenlawn Avenue from the west line of Lot <br />It as shown on the Recorded Plat of G. W. Mikesell's First Addition <br />to the City of South Bend, running thence west a distance of 341.45 <br />feet, more or less, to the east line, extended of a 14 foot north - <br />south alley, which is the first north -south alley east of Esther St. <br />The following lots may be injuriously or beneficially affected by <br />such vacation: <br />Lot 16 G. W. Mikesell's First Addition to the City of South Bend <br />and Lots 108, 109, 110, 111, 112, 113, 114, 115 Belleview Addition. <br />The Board finds that each of said lots have been benefited in the <br />amount of $0.00 and damaged in the amount of $0.00. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board adopted the <br />Assessment Roll and set Monday, May 12, 1975 at 9:30 a.m, as the <br />time and the Board of Public Works Hearing'Room as the place where <br />all persons interested in or affected by this vacation may be heard. <br />FRANK BARNA RE: CURB AND SIDEWALK REPAIRS, VICTORIA AND MIAMI ST. <br />Mr. Frank Barna was present. Mr. Barna resides at the corner of <br />Victoria and Miami Street and said the curb and sidewalk are in need <br />of repair. He asked the Board whether this area could be considered <br />in the city program announced for curb and sidewalk repairs. Mr. <br />Barcome noted that the program which has been suggested would be <br />funded with Community Development money and would be for curb <br />repair only. Mr. Farrans said there are some restrictions as to <br />areas where the funds can be used. Mr. Farrand said the Board would <br />take note of Mr. Barna's request. Mr. Barcome then suggested that <br />Mr. Farrand take a look at the area in question to determine whether <br />it would be possible for any repairs to be°made. <br />REQUEST FROM TOWER FEDERAL SAVINGS AND LOAN ASSOCIATION TO CHANGE <br />APPROVED PLANS FOR CURBSIDE DEPOSITORY <br />The Board received a request from the Tower Federal Savings and Loan <br />Association in regard to a curbside depository on West Washington <br />Street approved by the Board in February, 1974. They would now like <br />to make a change in the plans and have submitted an amended drawing. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the request was referred to <br />the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST FOR STREET LIGHT <br />The Board received a request from H. Hyler, 1916 Churchill Drive, <br />asking that consideration be given to the installation of a street <br />light in the 1900 block of Churchill Drive. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of <br />Traffic and Lighting. Mr. Farrand noted that there is a hold on all <br />street light installations at the present time. <br />REQUEST FOR STREET SERVICES <br />The Board received a request from Rev. Brinkley Collier to hold <br />Street Services at the corner of Washington and Walnut Streets at <br />7:00 p.m. on two Saturdays a month and in the 1000 block of Franklin <br />Street at 7:00 p.m. on two Saturdays a month. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the matter was referred to the Legal Department <br />and the Bureau of Traffic and'Lighting for review and recommendation. <br />Ll <br />
