REGULAR MEETING APRIL 7, 1975 FILING OF ASSESSMENT ROLL - VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3414, 1975 Rollin E. Farrand, P. E., City Engineer, files with the Board an Assessment Roll for Vacation Resolution No. 3414, 1975 for the vacation of the first east -west alley south of Ruskin Street between Esther Street and Greenlawn Avenue from the west line of Lot It as shown on the Recorded Plat of G. W. Mikesell's First Addition to the City of South Bend, running thence west a distance of 341.45 feet, more or less, to the east line, extended of a 14 foot north - south alley, which is the first north -south alley east of Esther St. The following lots may be injuriously or beneficially affected by such vacation: Lot 16 G. W. Mikesell's First Addition to the City of South Bend and Lots 108, 109, 110, 111, 112, 113, 114, 115 Belleview Addition. The Board finds that each of said lots have been benefited in the amount of $0.00 and damaged in the amount of $0.00. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board adopted the Assessment Roll and set Monday, May 12, 1975 at 9:30 a.m, as the time and the Board of Public Works Hearing'Room as the place where all persons interested in or affected by this vacation may be heard. FRANK BARNA RE: CURB AND SIDEWALK REPAIRS, VICTORIA AND MIAMI ST. Mr. Frank Barna was present. Mr. Barna resides at the corner of Victoria and Miami Street and said the curb and sidewalk are in need of repair. He asked the Board whether this area could be considered in the city program announced for curb and sidewalk repairs. Mr. Barcome noted that the program which has been suggested would be funded with Community Development money and would be for curb repair only. Mr. Farrans said there are some restrictions as to areas where the funds can be used. Mr. Farrand said the Board would take note of Mr. Barna's request. Mr. Barcome then suggested that Mr. Farrand take a look at the area in question to determine whether it would be possible for any repairs to be°made. REQUEST FROM TOWER FEDERAL SAVINGS AND LOAN ASSOCIATION TO CHANGE APPROVED PLANS FOR CURBSIDE DEPOSITORY The Board received a request from the Tower Federal Savings and Loan Association in regard to a curbside depository on West Washington Street approved by the Board in February, 1974. They would now like to make a change in the plans and have submitted an amended drawing. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for review and recommendation. REQUEST FOR STREET LIGHT The Board received a request from H. Hyler, 1916 Churchill Drive, asking that consideration be given to the installation of a street light in the 1900 block of Churchill Drive. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting. Mr. Farrand noted that there is a hold on all street light installations at the present time. REQUEST FOR STREET SERVICES The Board received a request from Rev. Brinkley Collier to hold Street Services at the corner of Washington and Walnut Streets at 7:00 p.m. on two Saturdays a month and in the 1000 block of Franklin Street at 7:00 p.m. on two Saturdays a month. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the matter was referred to the Legal Department and the Bureau of Traffic and'Lighting for review and recommendation. Ll
