ME <br />REGULAR MEETING APRIL 7, 1975 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:30 a.m. by Chairman Rollin E. Farrand with all members present. <br />Deputy City Attorney Kathleen Cekanski was also present. Minutes <br />of the previous meeting were reviewed and approved. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - POLICE VEHICLES AND TRUCK. <br />This was the date set for receiving bids for 45. vehicles for the <br />Bureau of Police and one truck for the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting. The Clerk tendered proof of publication of notice in <br />the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found <br />to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly <br />read, non -collusion affidavits being in order: <br />Freeman Spicer Co. <br />Bid - 43 Sedans - $151,916.10 <br />CD Less Trade-ins 43,200.00 <br />Net Bid 108,716.10 <br />Don Medow American <br />�14 <br />Bid - 43 Sedans - $160,492.16 <br />Less Trade-ins 34,125.00 <br />Net Bid <br />Gates Chevrolet Co. <br />126,367.16 <br />Bid - 33 Sedans - $147,683.25 <br />Less Trade -Ins 51,524.25 <br />Bid - 10 Sedans <br />Less Trade -Ins <br />Net Bid <br />Gates Chevrolet Co. <br />96,159.00 <br />41,542.50 <br />14,818.50 <br />26,724.00 <br />122,883.00 <br />Two Vans- Net Bid - $6,789.90 <br />Bid was signed by Jeffery Spicer, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in <br />order and a 10% bid bond accompanied <br />the bid. <br />Bid was signed by David R. Johnson, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in <br />order and a 10% bid bond accompanied <br />the bid. <br />Bid was signed by Van E. Gates, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in order <br />and a 10% bid bond accompanied the <br />bid. <br />Bid was signed by A. G. Irwin, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in <br />order and a 10% bid bond <br />accompanied the bid. <br />One Truck- Net Bid - $5,279.53 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the bids were referred to <br />the Bureau of Police and the Bureau of Vehicle Maintenance for <br />review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR BUREAU OF STREETS APPROVED <br />The Board received requests from Donald A. Decker, Director, Division <br />of Transportation, to advertise for bids for four 3/4 ton pick-up <br />trucks and four single axle dump trucks. Detailed specifications <br />were attached. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board <br />approved the request and directed the Clerk to advertise for bids <br />with bids to be received on April 21, 1975. <br />
