V <br />REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 17, 1975 <br />REQUEST FOR HEARING - SA14UEL-TURNER <br />Samuel Turner was present and told the_Board that his application <br />for a taxi license had been turned down by the City Controller because <br />of a police record, Mr. Turner said he has a Malicious Trespass <br />Record, He said.he has served in Viet Nam and is now trying to <br />obtain work in his home town and he feels the Board should give him <br />the opportunity to do so. Mr. Barcome recommended to Mr. Turner <br />that he contact Mr. Liss or Mr. Sharpe at the Indiana Cab Company <br />and get a letter from them in supportoof his efforts to drive a <br />taxi and submit the letter to the Board. The Board will then request <br />that Chief Walsh of the Police Department review the application. <br />REQUEST TO ERECT ENTRANCE CANOPY, 501 WEST WASHINGTON <br />The Board received a report from Forrest West, Building Commissioner, <br />that he had received a request from the City Awning Company to <br />erect an entrance canopy on the public way at 501 W. Washington, the <br />site of a retirement home. Mr. West reviewed the request and he <br />recommended approval. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, <br />O the request was approved. <br />Ci3 <br />REQUEST FOR TRANSFER OF TAXI LICENSE <br />W The Board received a request from Phyllis Frazier that her Taxi <br />License No. 12 be transferred to Robert Tutorow. Upon motion <br />made, seconded and carried, the request was referred to the Police <br />Department for review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST FOR STREET LIGHTING <br />A letter was received from Councilman Roger Parent requesting that <br />the Board investigate the.matter of street lighting at the Rockne, <br />Ironwood, Corby intersection. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, <br />the request:.was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />for review and recommendation. <br />APPROVAL OF BOND <br />Ray S. Andyrsiak, Bureau of Engineering, reported to the Board that <br />the continuation certificate for the Contractor's Bond of Nandor <br />Mago had been properly executed and could be approved. Upon motion <br />made, seconded and carried, the bond was approved to 12/31/75 <br />RELEASE OF SAND EXCAVATING COMPANY BOND <br />A request was received to release the Excavation Bond of the Sand <br />Excavating Company. Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering, reported <br />to the Board that the bond could be released. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the Board released the bond effective March 4, 1975. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT FILED <br />The Street Light Outage Report for the period of February 2 through <br />February 13 was received. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, <br />the report was ordered filed. <br />APPROVAL OF TITLE SHEET - PORTAGE AVENUE AND COTTAGE GROVE, WIDENING <br />AND SIGNALIZATION <br />The Board received the title sheet approving the plans for the Portage <br />Avenue -Cottage Grove widening and signalization project. Mr. Farrand <br />said plans for the project are on file in the Engineering Office. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board signed the title <br />sheet approving the plans. <br />
