2or <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />NOVEMBER 4, 1974 <br />BID ADVERTISING APPROVED - BUREA' OF SOLID WASTE <br />Michael L. Vance, Fiscal Officer for the Department of Public Works, <br />requested that the Board advertise for bids for a cab and chassis for <br />the Bureau of Solid Waste. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, <br />the Board approved the request and directed the clerk to advertise <br />for bids on November 8-and 15 with bids to be received on November 18. <br />REQUEST TO CONSTRUCT PARKING LOT AND PAVE ALLEY APPROVED <br />The Board received a request from the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church to <br />construct a parking lot and to pave a portion of an alley between Haney <br />and Broadway, from Carroll Street 200 feet west. Patrick McMahon, <br />Manager of the Bureau of Public Construction, reviewed the request and <br />recommended approval. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the <br />Board approved the request. <br />CHANGE ORDER - TOPICS PROJECT 6000(11)APPROVED <br />The Board received a Change Order in the Michigan Street -Main Street <br />Topics Project. The change was a decrease in the contract of $87.59 <br />CD and was for an adjustment in unit prices in.the contract. Upon motion <br />Z made, seconded and carried, the Change Order was approved. <br />CHANGE ORDER — REPAIR OF SOUTH BEND DAM <br />The Board received a Change Order for the South Bend Darn Repair project, <br />an increase of $7,000. Mr. Farrand explained that this was for repairing <br />cracks in the retaining walls along the island. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the Change Order was approved. <br />FILING OF PETITION TO VACATE PORTIONS OF THREE STREETS AND ALLEYS <br />The South Bend Community School Corporation, by their Attorney Jack C. <br />Dunfee, files their petition to vacate a portion of Rush Street, Donald <br />Street and Fox Street and three adjoining alleys. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the petition was referred to the Division of <br />Engineering for preliminary review and recommendation. <br />FILING OF PETITION TO VACATE THE NORTH -SOUTH ALLEY BETWEEN PHILLIPA <br />AND CARLISLE STREETS <br />Al and Sara Mickelson file their petition to vacate the north and south <br />alley between Phillipa and Carlisle Streets, from Dunham Street south <br />to the first alley south of Dunham Street. Purpose of the vacation <br />is to operate a recycling center. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, <br />the petition was referred to the Division of Engineering for preliminary <br />review and recommendation. <br />FILING OF DEDICATION OF ACCESS ROAD, NORTH SIDE OF WESTERN AVENUE <br />Achille Colpeert and the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company filed with <br />the Board the dedication of an access road on the north side of Western <br />Avenue, from Summitt Drive to Mayflower Road. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the Board referred the dedication to the Division <br />of Engineering for review and recommendation. <br />RESOLUTION RECEIVED TO AUTHORIZE CONTRACT FOR SALE OF 1809 FLORENCE <br />The Board received a resolution adopted by the Common Council <br />the Board of Public Works to negotiate a contract for the sale <br />property at 1809 Florence Street.
