10, REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 28_� 1974 APPROVAL FOR'REMOVAL OF PARKING METERS The Bureau`of Traffic and`Lighting recommended the removal of two parking meters on the north side of the 100 block of East Wayne Street, to provide for an additional lane of traffic. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the removal of .the meters. REQUEST FOR STREET LIGHT ST. VINCENT`STREET The Board received a request for a street light on St. Vincent Street between St. Joseph Street and Foster Street, and a petition signed by residents of the area. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for review and recommendation. APPROVAL OF REgUEST TO CIRCULATE PETITIONS IN THE DOWNTOWN AREA The Board received a letter from the Public Transportation Corporation stating that they have applied for a federal grant to provide bus service for the handicapped and are aware of the need for such a bus. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board filed the letter and approved the request to circulate petitions in the downtown area, during regular retail hours from October 29 through November 30. RESOLUTION OF INDIANA STATE HIGHWAY COMMISSION BANNING PARKING ON U. S. 20 The Board received a copy of a Resolution adopted by the Indiana State Highway Commission which bans parking on both sides of U. S. 20 from Ironwood to Logan. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the resolution was ordered filed. RESOLUTION OF INDIANA STATE HIGHWAY COMMISSION REGULARING SPEED ON CERTAIN HIGHWAYS The Board received a copy of a Resolution adopted by the Indiana State Highway Commission regulating speed on U.S. 20, S.R. 23 and U. S. 31 and approving the installation of flashers and signs at school crossings. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the resolution was ordered filed. STREET LIGHT INSTALLATIONS APPROVED The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting recommended the installation of street lights at the following locations: A. Clemens Street, at tee intersection - Install 5 7,000L 1-4V OH WP @ $3.75 - Cost: $18.75/mo. or $225.00/yr. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the installation was approved. B. Lincolnway West at Ryer - Install 20,000L MV OH WP, and remove 10,000L INC OH WP - Cost $1.05/mo. or $12.60/yr. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the installation was approved. C. Riverside Drive, from Lathrop to the Toll Road. Install 25 20,000L MV OH WP and remove 24 10,0001, INC OH WP Cost: $30.70/mo. or $368.40/yr. On Northview at Riverside - Install 1 7,0001, MV OH WP and remove 1 4,000L INC OH WP - Cost: $.35/mo. or $4.20/yr. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the installation was approved. D. Rose, East of Sherman. Install 1 7,0001, MV OH WP and remove 1 4,000L INC OH WP. Cost: $.90/mo. or $10.80/yr. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the installation was approved.
