t REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 30, 1974 1. On Monday, September 23rd, 1974 the Board of Public Works received 3 bids for this project. All three were above the project budget of $210,000.00 with Raymond International, Inc. being low at $319,461.50. These bids were then for- warded to the Bureau of Design and Administration for review and recommendation. 2. A meeting was immediately held in the office of Mr. David A. Wells, Manager of the aforementioned Bureau. Attending were Mr. Wells and Mr. McMahon of the Department of Public Works and Mr. John Fisher and Mr. Daniel Lawson. of Lawson Associates. During this meeting it was determined that there were certain portions of the work which could be reduced or eliminated. Once the extent of these acceptable modifications were determined, all three bids were uniformly adjusted to reflect the change in work. The results of this adjustment were as follows: all CD Raymond International, Inc. , $200_911.50 ; Hickey Construction Co., Inc.- 242, 0.TO W Lee Turzillo Contracting Company 216.;5_96.:50 3. Based on these figures, Mr Wells recommended to the=Board that the bid be tentatively awarded to Raymond'international, Inc., conditioned upon their review and approval. 4. On Tuesday, September 24, 1974, representatives of Raymond International, Inc. met with Mr. McMahon, Mr. Lawson, and Mr. Fisher to review the proposed modifications. At the conclusion of the meeting, the contractor agreed to the attached Change Order in total. In addition, the following two points were established: a. The Owner will perform the dewatering as specified as Dewatering I - West Race. b. Should any Rip -rap be required over and above the 25 C.Y. now specified the Contractor and Owner shall negotiate a new unit price. Very truly yours, s/ Rollin E. Farrand, P. E. A Change Order decreasing the contract by $118,550.00, making the contract total $200,911.50 was submitted to the Board. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Change Order was approved by the Board. REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS - POLICE DEPARTMENT UNIFORMS The Board received specifications for police uniforms and a request from Chief Urban to advertise for bids. Upon motion made, seconded* and carried, the Board approved the request and directed the Clerk to advertise for bids on October 4 and 11 with bids to be received on October 21, 1974 at 9:30 a.m.
