t <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 30, 1974 <br />1. On Monday, September 23rd, 1974 the Board of Public Works <br />received 3 bids for this project. All three were above <br />the project budget of $210,000.00 with Raymond International, <br />Inc. being low at $319,461.50. These bids were then for- <br />warded to the Bureau of Design and Administration for review <br />and recommendation. <br />2. A meeting was immediately held in the office of Mr. David <br />A. Wells, Manager of the aforementioned Bureau. Attending <br />were Mr. Wells and Mr. McMahon of the Department of Public <br />Works and Mr. John Fisher and Mr. Daniel Lawson. of Lawson <br />Associates. <br />During this meeting it was determined that there were certain <br />portions of the work which could be reduced or eliminated. Once <br />the extent of these acceptable modifications were determined, <br />all three bids were uniformly adjusted to reflect the change <br />in work. <br />The results of this adjustment were as follows: <br />all CD <br />Raymond International, Inc. , $200_911.50 ; <br />Hickey Construction Co., Inc.- 242, 0.TO <br />W <br />Lee Turzillo Contracting Company 216.;5_96.:50 <br />3. Based on these figures, Mr Wells recommended to the=Board <br />that the bid be tentatively awarded to Raymond'international, <br />Inc., conditioned upon their review and approval. <br />4. On Tuesday, September 24, 1974, representatives of Raymond <br />International, Inc. met with Mr. McMahon, Mr. Lawson, and Mr. <br />Fisher to review the proposed modifications. At the <br />conclusion of the meeting, the contractor agreed to the attached <br />Change Order in total. <br />In addition, the following two points were established: <br />a. The Owner will perform the dewatering as specified as <br />Dewatering I - West Race. <br />b. Should any Rip -rap be required over and above the 25 C.Y. <br />now specified the Contractor and Owner shall negotiate <br />a new unit price. <br />Very truly yours, <br />s/ Rollin E. Farrand, P. McMahon, Manager <br />Bureau of Public Construction <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the letter was ordered filed. <br />A Change Order decreasing the contract by $118,550.00, making the <br />contract total $200,911.50 was submitted to the Board. Upon motion <br />made, seconded and carried, the Change Order was approved by the <br />Board. <br />REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS - POLICE DEPARTMENT UNIFORMS <br />The Board received specifications for police uniforms and a request <br />from Chief Urban to advertise for bids. Upon motion made, seconded* <br />and carried, the Board approved the request and directed the Clerk <br />to advertise for bids on October 4 and 11 with bids to be received <br />on October 21, 1974 at 9:30 a.m. <br />
