COMPLAINT RE: ALLEY VACATION - CURTIS PRODUCTS, INC. Conrad Damien was present and expressed to the Board the concern of residents in the Carroll and Columbia Street area where an alley was vacated for Curtis Products, Inc. Mr. Damien said, at the time the alley was vacated, representatives for Curtis Products agreed to provide parking for their employees. Mr. Damien said there are not sufficient parking spaces and these people park on the street. Area residents, most of whom do not have garages, cannot park on the street. He also raised the question of whether Curtis Products was given the right to take part of Bronson Street. He noted that they have installed a sidewalk which extends into Bronson Street, making it only 23 feet wide at that point. Mr. Damien asked the Board to look into the matter. Mr. Farrand requested that the file on the alley vacation be referred to his office for a review. BID AWARDED - INWOOD RD.-DENSLOW DR. IMPROVEMENTS The Board received a recommendation from the Bureau of Design and Administration that the bids for the Inwood Rd.-Denslow Dr. street improvements had been reviewed and that the contract should be awarded to Walsh & Kelly, Inc. on their low bid of $102,955.25. BID AWARDED - CREST MANOR SEWERS The Board received a recommendation from the Bureau of Design and Administration that the bids for the Crest Manor Sewers, in the easements between Cambridge, Roelke, Matthews and Huffman Drive, had been reviewed. Two of the three bids were complete. The bid of Joe Procaccino was incomplete. Also, the length of sewer pipe was erroneously entered as 798 feet on the bid proposal. The recommendation continued that the contract should be awarded to Bradberry Brothers, Inc., the low bidder. Their bird corrected to allow for the discrepancy in length is $7,770.00.- Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board awarded the contract for the Crest Manor Sewers to Bradberry Brothers for a total bid price of $7,770.00. BID AWARDED - LIQUID CALCIUM CHLORIDE The Board received a recommendation from Donald Decker, Manager, Bureau of Streets, that the low and only bid of Orbie of Illiana, Inc. for liquid calcium chloride be accepted. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board awarded the contract for liquid calcium chloride to Orbie of Illiana, Inc. on their low bid of $13,220.00. BID AWARDED - SALT, BUREAU OF STREETS The Board received a recommendation from Donald Decker, Manager, Bureau of Streets, that the low bid of the Morton -Norwich Company be accepted for 10,000 tons of salt. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board accepted the bid of the Morton -Norwich Div. Morton Salt Company, at a total bid price of $134,000, or $13.40 a ton. LETTER AND CHANGE ORDER ON REPAIR OF SOUTH BEND DAM The Board received the following letter: Gentlemen: Re: FA 71-Repair of the South Bend Dam & Fish Ladder Construction Change Order #1 Please find attached Change Order #1 for the above referenced project.
