Helmen <br />Honorary Board Chairman <br />St. Joseph Bank & Trust Company <br />LETTER RE: PRICE CHANGES IN ASPHALT MATERIALS FILED <br />The Board received a letter from Rieth Riley Construction Company <br />advising them of price increases in asphalt materials. Upon motion <br />made, seconded and carried, the letter was ordered filed. <br />PROJECT COMPLETION AFFIDAVIT - DEMOLITION OF OLIVER GENERATING STATION <br />The Project Completion Affidavit from Tony Tomich & Sons, Inc. for <br />the demolition of the Oliver Generating Station was submitted to <br />the <br />Board. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Completion <br />Affidavit was approved. <br />SIGNING OF TITLE SHEET - ALLEY IMPROVEMENT <br />The Board received the title sheet approving the plans for the <br />W <br />improvement of the first alley East of the Innerbelt, running <br />south from Lincolnway West. David Wells informed the Board that <br />this <br />work is being done privately but the Bureau of Design and Administration <br />has approved the plans and will inspect the work. The work will <br />not <br />be done at city expense. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, <br />the <br />Board signed the title sheet approving the plans. <br />RECOMMENDATION TO AWARD BID FOR SOUTH BEND DAM REPAIRS <br />The Board received the following recommendation from the Bureau of <br />Design <br />and Administration regarding the bids for the repair of the South <br />Bend <br />dam: <br />"We have reviewed the bids submitted for the repair of <br />the South Bend Dam. All bids were proper and complete. <br />All bids are.in excess of the Engineer's estimate of <br />$198,924.92. In addition, all bids are in excess of <br />the planned appropriation of $210,000.00. <br />Based on the above, it is our recommendation that the <br />contract be awarded to the low bidder, Raymond International, <br />Inc. on their bid of $319,461.50 subject to: <br />1. The appropriation of funds, and <br />2. The successful negotiation of the job prices through <br />deduction, modifications or deletion of job items <br />to obtain a contract price within the appropriations. <br />Very truly yours, <br />s/ Rollin E. Wells <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board accepted the <br />recommendation and awarded the bid to Raymond Internation, Inc. <br />on their low bid of $319,461.50, subject to the appropriation <br />of funds and the negotiation of the contract so that it is within <br />the appropriation. Mr. Barcome explained that this action was being <br />taken so that there would be no hold up on construction of Century <br />Center. <br />
