Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the installation <br />was approved. <br />Southeast corner of the alley intersection south of Wayne and east <br />of Main. Install a "4-way lens" 7,000L MV. Remove one 1,000L and <br />one 4,000L. Cost $2.90/mo. or $34.80/yr. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the installation was approved. <br />Ridgedale, west of Miami. Install one 7,000L MV OH WP,. Cost <br />$3.75/mo. or $45.00/yr. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the <br />installation was approved. <br />Colfax Avenue, at the alley east of Walnut. Install one 7,000L MV OH <br />WP. Cost $3.75/mo. or $45.00/yr. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />carried, the installation was approved. <br />Meade Street, midblock north of Westmore. Install one light. Cost <br />$7.50/mo. or $90.00/yr. Upon motion made, seconded and carried,the <br />installation was approved. <br />RECOMMENDATION TO BAN PARKING ON McKINLEY, FROM HICKORY TO IRONWOOD <br />The Board received a letter from Leonard Lucas, District Highway <br />Engineer for the Indiana State Highway Commission, suggesting that <br />the ban on parking on McKinley Highway include the section from <br />Hickory to Ironwood. Upon motion made, seconded and carried,the <br />Board approved the recommendation to include the section from <br />Hickory to Ironwood in the McKinley Highway parking ban. <br />APPLICATION FOR PRETZEL PALACE ON RIVER BEND PLAZA APPROVED <br />The Board received the completed application from the Pretzel Palace <br />to operate on the supergraphic area of River Bend Plaza. They <br />have purchased their city license and the electrical hook-up has <br />been provided. The Health Department was to inspect the vehicle <br />Friday. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved <br />the application, subject -to an electrical inspection and the Health <br />Department permit. <br />REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS - EXCAVATION AND DEMOLITION,CIVIC CENTER <br />The Board received a request from Richard Rosenthal, Chairman of the <br />Civic Center Authority, to advertise for bids for the mass excavation <br />and demolition of the Civic Center Site with bids to be opened on <br />October 14, 1974 at 9:30 a.m. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, <br />the Board approved the request and directed the Clerk to advertise for <br />bids on September 27 and October 4 with bids to be received at 9:30 <br />a.m. on Monday, October 14, 1974. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT FILED <br />The Street Light Outage Report for the period of September 6 through <br />September 16 was received and ordered filed. <br />LETTER FROM FRED HELMEN RE: RIVER BEND PLAZA <br />The Board received a copy of the following letter sent to Mayor <br />Miller: <br />"Dear Jerry, September 9, 1974 <br />I think you should know that the changes that have taken <br />place on River Bend Plaza in the last ten days have been <br />very noticeable. In fact, many people have mentioned it to me. <br />The plaza is now tidy and loitering has been virtually <br />eliminated. I think most of the credit belongs to you, the <br />Board of Works, the Board of Safety and to a young man who is <br />always on the job by the name of Levy. Much can also be <br />said for having uniform personnel (male and female) who <br />patrol the area. <br />
