REGULAR MEETING <br />AUGUST 5, 1974 <br />REQUEST FOR BUILDING DEPARTMENT PERSONNEL TO ATTEND CONFERENCE <br />The Board received a request from Forrest R. West to allow him <br />to attend the Annual Conference of the Indiana Association of <br />Building Officials in South Bend on August 5 through 7, along <br />with other members of the Building Department. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the request was approved. <br />BONDS APPROVED <br />The Board received a report from Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of <br />Engineering, that the following bonds were in order and could be <br />approved: <br />Contractor's Bond for Francis D. McGinnity d/b/a Topher Enterprises <br />to August 14, 1975. <br />Contractor's Bond for Carl J. Reinke and Sons to August 4, 1975. <br />Contractor's Bond for Circle Lumber Company to August 31, 1975. <br />C <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the bonds were approved to <br />the dates listed. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT FILED <br />The Street Light Outage Report for the period of July 27 through <br />July 31 was received. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the <br />report was ordered filed. <br />REQUEST TO CLOSE STREETS AROUND LA SALLE PARK FOR CONCERT <br />The Board received a request from the LaSalle Athletic and Action <br />Program to block several streets in the LaSalle Park Area on Sunday, <br />August 25, 1974 from 12:00 to 7:00 p.m. to hold a Memorial Concert <br />to Dean Johnson. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the request <br />was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for review and <br />recommendation. <br />FILING OF PRELIMINARY PLANS AND ENGINEER'S ESTIMATE FOR <br />CONSTRUCTION OF ELWOOD AVENUE SIDEWALK AND CURB <br />The Preliminary Plans and Engineer's Estimate for the construction <br />of sidewalk and curb on Elwood Avenue from Olive Street to Portage <br />Avenue and Wilber Street along Muessel Park were, upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, filed with the Board. <br />IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 3404, 1974 ADOPTED <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the following Improvement <br />Resolution was adopted by the Board: <br />IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION <br />NO. 3404, 1974 <br />BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Public Works of the City of South <br />Bend, Indiana, that it is deemed necessary to improve Elwood Avenue <br />from Olive Street to Portage Avenue and Wilber Street along Muessel <br />Park by constructing sidewalk and curb at various locations. <br />The same to be done in accordance with the profiles, drawings, general <br />details and specifications for such improvement filed on August 5, 1974 <br />and to be adopted by the Board of Public Works of the City of South <br />Bend, Indiana, immediately upon the final adoption and confirmation <br />of this resolution, and placed on file in the Office of the Board of <br />Public Works of said City, and such improvement is now ordered. <br />
