lb <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />AUGUST 5, 1974 <br />The total cost of said Improvement, including all incidiental costs, <br />such as advertising and engineering, shall be assessed upon the real <br />estate abutting on said sidewalk and curb to be improved, in accordance <br />with applicable statutes. The said improvement is to be financed and <br />paid for as provided in Chapter 40, of the Acts of 1953, as amended <br />(1971 I.C. 18-6-3). Assessments, if deferred, are to be paid in five <br />(5) equal installments, with interest at the rate of six (6) per cent <br />per annum. <br />The 19th day of August, 1974 at the hour of 9:30 a.m., Local Time, <br />is hereby fixed as the time, and the office of the Board in said City <br />as the place, when and where all persons whose property may be affected <br />by such proposed improvement, may be heard as to the necessity for the <br />same, and all petitions and remonstrances received. The Board will, <br />on said day, decide whether the benefits accruing to abutting and <br />adjacent property, and to the City of South Bend, Indiana,'will be <br />equal to or exceed the estimated cost of said improvement. The Clerk <br />of the Board is hereby ordered to give notice by two weekly publica- <br />tions, of the time and place of hearing of this resolution. <br />Adopted August 5, 1974. <br />s/ Rollin E. Seitz <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />Notice of Hearing Published <br />on August 9 and August 16, 1974 <br />s/ Patricia DeClercq, Clerk of the Board <br />FILING OF BUREAU OF STREETS MATERIAL PRICE INCREASES <br />A letter from Rieth Riley Construction Company, listing price in- <br />creases for Bureau of Streets Materials, effective July 29, 1973 <br />was received. The bid for materials accepted by the Board contained <br />an escalator clause. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the <br />price list was ordered filed. <br />STREET LIGHT INSTALLATIONS APPROVED <br />The following recommendations were received from the Bureau of Traffic <br />and Lighting for installation of street lights: <br />1. A 7,000LMV OH WP on Studebaker at the alley south of <br />Fassnacht. Cost, $3.75/mo. or $45/yr. <br />2. A 7,000LMV OH WP on Prast, 250 ft. west of Meade. <br />Cost $3.75/mo. or $45/7r. <br />3. 2 7,OOOLMV OH WP on Birner (250' apart) east of Blaine. <br />Cost $7.50/mo. or $90/yr. <br />4. 2 7,000LMV OH WP on the east side of Ironwood Road, north <br />of Ireland. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the installations were <br />approved. <br />APPLICATIONS FOR RIVER BEND PLAZA <br />Applications were received for display booths on River Bend Plaza <br />from the Y.W.C.A. and the League of Women Voters. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the applications were approved. <br />Applications for Robert Bethany and the Beta Delta Sorority were <br />received and were approved, subject to compliance with licensing <br />and insurance procedures or establishment of non-profit status. <br />
