lb REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 5, 1974 The total cost of said Improvement, including all incidiental costs, such as advertising and engineering, shall be assessed upon the real estate abutting on said sidewalk and curb to be improved, in accordance with applicable statutes. The said improvement is to be financed and paid for as provided in Chapter 40, of the Acts of 1953, as amended (1971 I.C. 18-6-3). Assessments, if deferred, are to be paid in five (5) equal installments, with interest at the rate of six (6) per cent per annum. The 19th day of August, 1974 at the hour of 9:30 a.m., Local Time, is hereby fixed as the time, and the office of the Board in said City as the place, when and where all persons whose property may be affected by such proposed improvement, may be heard as to the necessity for the same, and all petitions and remonstrances received. The Board will, on said day, decide whether the benefits accruing to abutting and adjacent property, and to the City of South Bend, Indiana,'will be equal to or exceed the estimated cost of said improvement. Seitz BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS Notice of Hearing Published on August 9 and August 16, 1974 s/ Patricia DeClercq, Clerk of the Board FILING OF BUREAU OF STREETS MATERIAL PRICE INCREASES A letter from Rieth Riley Construction Company, listing price in- creases for Bureau of Streets Materials, effective July 29, 1973 was received. The bid for materials accepted by the Board contained an escalator clause. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the price list was ordered filed. STREET LIGHT INSTALLATIONS APPROVED The following recommendations were received from the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for installation of street lights: 1. A 7,000LMV OH WP on Studebaker at the alley south of Fassnacht. Cost, $3.75/mo. or $45/yr. 2. A 7,000LMV OH WP on Prast, 250 ft. west of Meade. Cost $3.75/mo. or $45/7r. 3. 2 7,OOOLMV OH WP on Birner (250' apart) east of Blaine. Cost $7.50/mo. or $90/yr. 4. 2 7,000LMV OH WP on the east side of Ironwood Road, north of Ireland. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the installations were approved. APPLICATIONS FOR RIVER BEND PLAZA Applications were received for display booths on River Bend Plaza from the Y.W.C.A. and the League of Women Voters. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the applications were approved. Applications for Robert Bethany and the Beta Delta Sorority were received and were approved, subject to compliance with licensing and insurance procedures or establishment of non-profit status.
